Welcome to Broadway! There will be singing! There will be antics! There will be comedy/tragedy!
Actually, I saw none of those things on the menu. If you are looking for a play, this place is not for you. If you are in for a nice pub/restaurant that has delicious food and great customer service, then this is the place for you.
Stopping by here after a fun-filled day in Burlington was a fantastic idea. While browsing a list of places to eat, The Broadway showed up on Google and the photos of the food looked fantastic. So we entered the address into my GPS and hit the gas pedal.
Upon getting there, I noticed that there was a cafe side. I didn’t get the chance to see inside the cafe, but the idea of a cafe attached to a bar/grill is cool and very unique. I am sure that can lead to some pretty situations.
The interior of is pretty nice. It is a bit of an upscale place without the upscale prices or the feeling of being under dressed. If you have ever been to Buffalo Wild Wings, then this place will feel really familiar, but with more local sports teams on the walls.
After being seated and given menus and drinks, my friend and I locked eyes on the same delicious sounding burger right away. The BBQ Double Stack! So we placed an order and waited. What we thought would be a short wait for the food ended up being a super short wait. The food came out after maybe 7 minutes… and when they were placed down in front of us, our mouths were anxious to start chomping on the delicious-looking burgers.
Upon sinking into the burgers, we knew with the first bite that these may have been the best burgers we had all year… maybe even Top 5 Burgers. Yes, these burgers were that good. My friend’s sweet potato fries came with some cinnamon butter that was absolutely delicious on fries.
To stop myself from raving about these burgers, I will wrap this up. Maybe if I ever get to re-visit, I can check out the cafe side. Also, if you ever find yourself in Burlington/West Burlington and want… nay… NEED a good burger, then make your way to The Broadway and thank me later on how happy your taste buds...
Read moreReally disappointed in The Broadway. It has really gone downhill since my last visit. The menu was very limited, and the music was deafeningly LOUD. Our waitress waited on us for our drinks, but then she apparently forgot about us. Finally, after 20 more minutes, we got the attention of another waitress. I wanted to order a "Cuban Reuben" that contained something called mojo pork. I asked (the new waitress) what that was and she replied, "I have no idea." She then asked another waitress who was walking by what mojo pork was, and she too replied, "I have no idea." I went ahead and ordered it anyway because I love sauerkraut. Well, the sandwich arrived, and guess what? The chef forgot to put sauerkraut on it! Isn't that the first thing that comes to one's mind when you're preparing a Reuben??? I sent it back, and after quite a long wait, my sandwich once again arrived with about three measly strands of sauerkraut on it, and the sandwich was very, very dry. I think the chef also forgot to add the mustard sauce that was also supposed to be on it, but I didn't want to send it back again as my wife was already finished with her meal. Plus, my onion rings were now cold, as they obviously did not re-heat my plate. I ended up only eating half of my sandwich and the cold onion rings, as I was ready to get this miserable dining experience over. If you ever go there and order a Reuben, be prepared to get a cold meat and cheese sandwich instead, as that's basically what it was by the time I bit into it. I will not being going there again...
Read moreWe went on 7/30/2023 We saw the mouse on our way in outside near the trash. We told the Hostess, but it was still there when we left. THE FOOD. The pretzel bites and cheese curds were fantastic. I should have quit while I was ahead. The New York was overcooked. 2nd steak made us regret not have a meat clever to cut it with. I ordered a black and blue burger with an Elk Patty. Way overcooked and tasted like cold grease, and it was cooked -on the edges - to a flint like hardness. ”. My fries were cold. They brought me some new ones that were hot but tasted like Grease. So, they took away my burger and brought me meatloaf. Same overcooked edges The taste was just like the elk burger. The mashed potatoes were good as was the gravy. The Cuban sandwich was super dry and super tough. Our server did her best and tried to get me a good meal. Didn’t happen but she was amazing. In the end the restaurant adjusted our bill but the dining experience was...
