Coterie Lounge & Cafe — Restaurant in West Chester Township

Many many (many 😭) years ago when I was in college my absolute favorite weekend and free evening activity was socializing at the local coffee shop with friends, so imagine my excitement when someone decided to open Coterie Lounge and Cafe right here on Cin-Day road in Olde West Chester!! Unfortunately on brand for it to take me this long to make it in but I'm so excited I finally did this morning!!

I'd seen pictures and heard the reviews but wow the atmosphere is really something to be experienced!! Please do yourself a favor and take the time to come in and linger a little bit. Very friendly people, very comfy space, amazing coffee and delicious food too! Did I mention that the cookie cutter chain spots cannot at all compete with Coterie's prices?? The decorating is amazing, and you can just really tell that this is a passion project that is not to be slept on.

I was so excited to visit this place and was not disappointed. There is a front (street) entrance and a side (parking lot) entrance. Take your pick.

Upon entering, there are fun signs and touches to discover all over this shop, even in the gender neutral bathrooms. I added a few pics, but you really need to come discover for yourself. I loved the reading nook windows and the interactive play floor. There are sofas and tables for conversations or bar tops for laptop/solitude time. The staff were so welcoming and warm the whole time we were there. They had a great sense of humor about things and you could tell they love the place.

I only had a chance to try the coffee this time but it had great flavor. I was beyond grateful to discover they have unsweetened coconut milk (my fav alternative) for future beverages.

Super cozy and welcoming!! I like how you guys made it very clear that this is a safe space where people can relax. There’s also an incredible selection of books for both kids and adults to read. My only complaints are that I wish the menu was more detailed. Which drinks are available hot or iced? Are there alternative milk options? Instead of an elaborate, AI-generated (according to CopyLeaks) paragraph describing how each drink will make you feel, I wish there were shorter descriptions that describe what the drink is and what the options for each drink are.
