Ordered a farmers omelet. Was supposed to have peppers, onions, potatoes (thought cheese but I could be working on that) and choice of meat. I got a slab of eggs. Yes, thats exactly what it looked like. resembling nothing like an omelet and not quite scrambled eggs. Just scrambled egg with very little ham in it, cooked into a solid slab and plopped on top of some fried half cooked potatoes. The eggs were a weird texture. Super dense but slimy in the middle. It was so strange. The side of grilled potatoes was just mashed up potatoes with absolutely no flavor. When I asked about the omelet and the peppers and onions the waitress gave my plate back to the cooks where they picked up my slab of egg and tossed some under cooked peppers and onions underneath. This place use to be so good. The waitress was nice and it’s not her fault. Kitchen staff needs to do better. If I’m gonna pay almost $20 a plate I’d rather it be the omelet I asked for and not lazy scrambled egg slabs. With a side of 3lbs of potatoes that are bland af. Also need to mention that I like the vibe and feel of a small town diner, but this like I was sitting in someone’s dirty walk in closet. I get the space is small but in the corner we sat in that was freezing, they had junk piled in the corner. Not sure how this passes inspection. Outside looks like at one time they maybe had some nice outside seating. Now there is soggy ripped up pop up canopy’s. Very trash and junky yard looking all around. Not sure what happened to this place. Prices went up (understandable in todays economy) atmosphere and quality went way down. Still gave waitress 20% tip bc again, she was nice and does not cook the poor food she serves. If looking for a diner, plenty of others more worth your time and dollar. So...

Saturday Morning Visit – Disappointing Experience

We were drawn in by the menu and positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. While the food tasted fine, the service left much to be desired.

After being seated, it took 10 minutes just to be greeted for coffee, and another 20 minutes before cream was brought to the table. Multiple servers checked in with us, seemingly unsure who was actually assigned to our table, which led to confusion and long wait times. I want to note, it was busy, but not the kind of busy that warrants this kind of disorganization/confusion.

When the food finally arrived, one server walked around holding our plates, unsure where to place them, and had her thumb under one of the large pancakes—definitely off-putting. The pancake itself was cold, and we found both a piece of onion and a hair in it.

We had to ask for basic condiments like salt and ketchup. The ketchup bottle was empty, and we ended up getting salt ourselves from another server inside. After the meal, we waited 15 minutes for the check before finally going inside to pay, only to be told they were “just about to bring it.”

We left disappointed and would recommend considering other options for a smoother dining experience (that is, unless you’ve got all morning to burn for...

We went on mothers day- so they were extremely busy. It took over an hour for our food, and our waitress initially forgot to get our drinks. We only saw her a couple of times, but we noticed the other waitresses around were at their tables regularly.

We ordered biscuits and gravy, and a cheese burger to share...also a cold brew coffee and a regular coffee. Both were really great coffee. My 7 year old ordered a hotdog, it was HUGE, and she really liked it. The biscuits and gravy were great, the burger was okay.

I wish the waitress would have disclosed that the cold brew was almost an extra $6, and that the slushie she suggested for my daughter was not included.

At the end, we got our bill and I'm glad we looked because it was $10 more then what it should have been. They fixed it...I didn't love our waitress but I did really like the other workers.

When walking out, a lady behind the counter gave me a flower for mothers day and was super sweet!

They're a little pricey, but we would definitely try them again. They have a really nice homey vibe in there as well...

Why do I love this place? ...because of everything they do there. It is my absolute favorite place for breakfast and brunch. If we have a celebration, a family/cousins get together, early Sunday drive b-fast, or simply I want good food and to walk away with my pants unbuttoned and feeling sick from overindulgence we eat here. You could eat here I think in my opinion everyday for a year and not eat all the different combos they have on the menu. Oh my gosh, the pancakes and french toasts. All the different flavors and ideas they have. Their burrito game is on point! The home fries are perfect. And service with a smile ALWAYS. I love those girls. They bring me and my family such happiness when they turn that corner with our plates. Lol in all seriousness, for the price and the portion you will not find anything like this in our area. I like to think it's the AK Valleys best kept secret. I do tell everyone about it and secretly hope they don't come so I can get my booth. I have never had a poor or bad experience to speak of. Hands down, my favorite place to eat.

Deer Creek Diner is a great place to relax and have a hearty meal before or after a trip to Deer Lakes Park. The diner is near the entrance to the park. Sitting outside on a pleasant Saturday afternoon we had generous and tasty lunches while listening to great live music. Inside, the diner has lots of old time atmosphere and a homey vibe. Our server was friendly and attentive to our needs. She brought our dog a bowl of water and we were very pleased that our dog could join us at our table for our lunch.
