New China — Restaurant in West Deptford Township

I conducted an experiment and ordered the same meal from 3 different Chinese restaurants at the same time. (I’m new to the area and wanted to find good Chinese take out quickly. haha!)

I ordered general tso combo and wonton soup. The soup was fine, nothing special and probably wouldn’t get again. But the general tso’s was the best of all 3 restaurants! It was a little spicy, lots of chicken and not overly battered, good fried rice, good egg roll.

I didn’t have high hopes given other reviews so I was pleasantly surprised! It was also the cheapest of the 3. This will definitely be my usual Chinese spot.

Other places I tried were Happy Wok (the worst of the 3 and maybe worst I’ve ever had) and Sakana which was okay but very different than most General Tsos and also $4...

Disappointed. Never tried here before, found them online. Called to place an order and the woman was very short and hurried, which would be fine (I understand if you are busy) but it caused her to put the wrong address down. I waited more than an hour then called back, and she shouted at me for my address. I gave it again. It got here ten minutes later than they said, and the food is not good. Sesame sauce tastes sour. Meat is rubbery. I might not care about all of this if the food was solid, but I'm just disappointed now. Lots of waiting. I don't know why they didn't call me when they realized they didn't have the correct address, and why they waited for me to call them back after over an hour. I'm hoping I caught them on a bad night but I wont be...

Me and my family have been coming here for years. It's right down the street from me which makes it easy to get to.

Prices are reasonable and the food is good. It's Chinese takeout so don't expect gormet, but even then it's still really good.

My favorite is the General Tsos chicken. Lots of extra sauce with the perfect amount of sweet and spicy.
