Achenbach's Pastries, Inc — Restaurant in West Earl Township

We visited after 3pm unfortunately much was already sold out. BUT, look at their GINORMOUS CHOCOLATE ECLAIRS! OMG, they're huge! (next time I'm getting one as I couldn't keep in car while running errands this day!) We did get pastries which were very reasonably priced! The black-raspberry cream cheese Danish is totally like a dream pastries in your mouth! Just the right balance of flavor which you have to taste to get the full experience of!

OH, AND they have BEAUTIFUL cakes, so i got a cupcake to sample! THIS IS THE BEST WHITE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING I'VE HAD! The cake is moist & has flavor! But the chocolate ICING is PERFECT! It actually tastes like homemade (better than any homemade actually!) that's creamy yet chocolate that's not grainy or weak! OMG, I'm in heaven!

This Bakery reminded me of when I was a kid, living in Southern CA, & we had a little neighborhood family-owned cute, Bakery that we loved. I've never seen anywhere like it until I walked into this one. Took me back in time!

I have been going to Achenbach’s for years. Their cakes and donuts and sweet treats are delicious. However, I noticed for one of my kids first birthdays that the sheet cake I ordered was very light in weight. Then I realized they took an entire layer of cake off and charged me the same price. I quickly realized the round cakes still had the layer and started ordering those instead. Well today they have lost that layer as well. Pathetic that they don’t tell their customers this major change in what they are actually offering the customers. That’s disgusting. Times are hard for everyone and I’m sure as a Mennonite outfit that you are not hurting whatsoever Achenbach’s, but you are surely scamming people out of their money left and right!!!! Unless you feel like wasting money DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Who knows what they are putting in their food now. If they are lying about cake size what else are they lying about! Do not buy - cannot...

Been a supporter many years and many years to come. From someone who's known the bakery inside and out, I can guarantee the products are as fresh as they come. The employees start their day at 1am and everything is truly made from scratch. This bakery has shown support to the community in so many ways and the mascot has shown his appearance all over lancaster, including kitchen kettle village and our nursing homes to bring a smile to faces wherever they can reach. They look out for the safety of their employees and customers. I am sad to see the short sighted backlash this business has received by displaying a few rainbows in support of its LGBTQ community, in times where things have been very hard for them.
