Title: Disappointing Takeout Experience at Monte D Rey Mexican Restaurant in Ashe County, North Carolina

I recently decided to give Monte D Rey Mexican Restaurant in Ashe County, North Carolina a chance by ordering takeout. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, leaving me feeling deeply disappointed and regretful.

First and foremost, the portions provided in my takeout order were shockingly small and resembled something more appropriate for a child's meal. Considering the price I paid, I expected a more substantial serving that would leave me satisfied. Instead, I was left feeling unsatisfied and cheated out of my hard-earned money.

To make matters worse, the quality of the food fell far below my expectations. I was appalled to find that the containers and the food itself were infested with tiny bugs. This disgusting discovery not only ruined my appetite but also raised serious concerns about the restaurant's cleanliness and hygiene practices. It is completely unacceptable for any establishment to serve food in such unhygienic conditions.

In addition to the subpar food, I encountered a significant issue when I tried to address my concerns with the manager/owner. I took the time to call and express my dissatisfaction, expecting a professional and understanding response. However, I was met with a complete lack of professionalism and a failure to take responsibility for their restaurant's shortcomings. Despite their promise to provide a refund, I was left empty-handed, feeling inconvenienced and frustrated by the disregard for my time and money.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise against ordering takeout from Monte D Rey Mexican Restaurant. The disappointing portions, unsanitary conditions, and unprofessional management all contribute to a regrettable dining experience. This is such a difficult review for me to write. My husband and I have been eating at this restaurant for the last 6 years. We order the same thing every time we go: grilled chicken quesadilla, beef nachos, rice, and tamale. We usually go in the evening but on this particular day we went for lunch. The waitress asked if we wanted a half or full order of the nachos and my husband and I both responded that we weren't aware that they came half a full order. We ordered the full order and when it was brought out I said to the waitress what is this? She responded nacho Supreme and I said I did i not order that I ordered nachos with beef. I have Crohn's disease and cannot eat raw lettuce, raw tomatoes, raw avocado that was on top of the nachos. She got a little attitude with us and brought out the menu again and asked us to point to what we wanted which was the nachos with beef. When we got the bill, we were charged for the Nachos Supreme so I told my husband I would handle it when we went up to pay. The owner, who is always there and very nice, said to me you ordered Nachos Supreme and that's what you're paying for. I said I did not order nachos Supreme because I cannot eat the raw vegetables that are on the top and he said that is what you ordered and then he wagged his finger in my face saying you made me waste food. He did take the Nachos Supreme off my bill and substituted it with the beef nachos as I ordered. Unfortunately, I will not return to this restaurant after being treated in such a manner, and it pains me to do that because I truly do...

*The food is great always consistent. The staff are great, they always go the extra mile to makes sure you have a pleasurable experience. As always servers, food and beverages were excellent.

*We have been going here for the last 4 years or longer, pretty much since the opening,,, I don't remember how long ago, ( could be margarita fog) Anyway, the food has always been fantastic and always consistent. most all of the servers are very efficient and very courteous. Sometimes a language barrier but that's never been a problem with accuracy or courtesy Treat them respectfully and you will receive the same.

I don't remember when I entered the comments above...... Most certainly Margarita related.... Anyway, they are still awesome ! The staff are so courteous and friendly. Most of the friends from my first post have moved on or are working at other locations. The new friends are just as great as the previous friends, I really don't know how they find these people, I know of several places that could use Monte D Reys playbook on training. The food is and always has been consistently delicious a great meal at a fair price ! If you haven't been, you should really go,
