Came here for the first time today as we were near the area. First off, totally weird location as it turns into what you think is a residential neighborhood (all houses) area. The first impression wasn’t that great as the location and ambience wasn’t too inviting. Then once you enter through the doors, the whole aisle of glass (where donuts would be in, but presented behind a glass) was totally empty and being worked on. Employees were not warm to you once you entered in. As a fist time customer, I felt a bit confused as to where things are. As you walk through the first aisle, there’s a section of cookies behind glass where you can choose and get a couple as self serve. Then, there’s another area for already pre-boxed donuts, either by the dozen, or in half dozens. Dozen boxes were in metal rolling trays, and the half dozen boxes were placed on a table next to it. Finally, the taste of their donuts (purchased half dozen maple bars, and half dozen glazed) aren’t all cracked up to be. I’ve had better, and will prob not come back.

It had been quite awhile since we went to Dunford's. The place was organized with more detailed pricing, new chocolate old fashioned donut flavor, new options for gloves/papers for selecting donuts, and great service. The only thing I found disappointing was their blueberry streusel bread. I bought it to make french toast, but upon opening it all I could smell was artificial flavors. So I read the back and sure enough, tons of "extras" including stevia. I still made the french toast for the fam who enjoyed it as they insisted on having it. I, on the other hand, took a hard pass. I would prefer buying frozen breads with less "stuff" rather than "fresh" bread made fresh with "extras".

Decent people work here, but their donuts are pretty lousy. I am searching for good donuts and this is not the place. Years ago they were salt Lake donut and they were pretty good back then, but now they are not good at all. No better than a grocery store donut. The flavors were weak, textures were boring, and location is super inconvenient unless you happen to live close by. We couldn't hardly bring ourselves to finish them.

UPDATE: Went to the bakery with family visiting in town. We were excited to do so as a tradition, but I was very disappointed. The selection was extremely limited and the product was not fresh (it was Saturday morning so perhaps they were leftovers from the week, but that has not and should not be the case). We were also not able to get what we wanted without purchasing it in larger mixed quantities. I’d be happy to pay extra to get what I wanted, individually wrapped, whatever. I’m sure this is all COVID related, but I will not be returning under these circumstances. They’ve lost me as a customer for now.

PREVIOUS POST: This hidden gem has been a mainstay for our family for over a decade. If you like Dunford Bakery products, you’ll love their little store located at the front of the bakery. You’ll find a large variety of their signature fresh donuts (the apple or raspberry fritters and cake doughnuts are my favorites!) and wheat breads. You used to be able to buy one, or a hand selected dozen mix of your own preference, (you can still place large orders in advance for pick up). Now with COVID restrictions, they are individually wrapped. You can even get some milk to go with them. It’s to-go only. No indoor or...

Love their donuts. That cannot be disputed. Great quality, good rotating selection, great treats all around. However, their staff needs some customer service training. I went twice this week, thought maybe the first time was a fluke with bad customer service, so gave it a second chance and it was the same. The staff makes you feel as if you are in their way when you're purchasing donuts. However, I believe that's a design flaw with the whole setup. It's a retail store attached to the factory floor so the workers are always in and out bringing in donuts. Maybe if they changed the set up so the cases were lined up so the employees could slide the donuts in from behind rather than have to keep shooing customers out of the way to restock, they'd have a better customer friendly environment. I'm a paying customer. I shouldn't have to feel as if I'm in the way, bothering workers when I'm shopping at your establishment. Then I took my donuts to the counter and waited about five minutes before the two women at the counter finished their conversation before helping me. So sorry...
