I waited until my second visit to make a review because unfortunately I was unimpressed on my first visit and I don't like to give bad reviews. So I gave it another chance recently and it was a much better experience. I do love the atmosphere and seems like a good spot just to hang out and get some work done like at other coffeehouses. Both visits we were the only people there so I hope business picks up for them because this place has good potential. The first time I went I can't remember exactly what I got as far as coffee but I believe it was an iced coffee and not a latte and it was mostly milk and sugar. This recent visit I got one of the special fall drinks and it was delicious. I believe I got the salted caramel cinnamon bun latte and it was really good. For food on my first visit I got a bagel with cream cheese which is a simple item so I didn't want to judge too harshly but it seemed like a store bought Thomas bagel which was just eh. This time I got the avocado toast which was delicious. I also got a lemon poppy muffin which was super yummy. I felt a little bad because the girl at the register was super nice and friendly but mentioned it was her second day working there and must have accidentally placed the order as just regular toast so when my order came out it was just plain toast and we told the lady who served us that it was supposed to be avocado toast. So she did remake it but I felt bad that I didn't just take the plain toast although the avocado toast was much more impressive and worth coming back for. It had a fried egg, bacon and balsamic on it. The cashier said it also usually comes with sundried tomatoes but I asked for it without. The menu also just said avocado toast and doesn't say what else comes on it so I thought it was worth mentioning that I enjoyed that it had more on it. I will definitely come back and try more things here and do recommend it as a nice cozy spot to grab a coffee and a light breakfast. They also have ice cream so if I'm ever out that way later in the day I'll give the ice cream or lunch...
Read moreI have to give 1 star for the coffee and especially the service here. I’ve worked and managed some of the busiest coffee shops in a large city and we put out drinks faster to whole crowds than this place does for 1-2 people.
Every time I stop there’s 3-4 people working behind the counter. But it still takes far too long for a customer to get a drink and/or a pastry. I see people just standing around waiting for their orders while the folks behind the counter are moving slow and chatting to each other.
As for the coffee, I have tried 4-5 different drinks here and every single one has been terrible. The drip coffee, the espresso, the mixed lattes, all terrible! They taste burnt and the sugar ratios in the lattes are way off making them to sweet.
I like that the place is roomy and has several kinds of seating to choose from. They also take UPS packages. And the bathroom is always clean. I’ll continue to meet friends here but I’ll only buy bottled drinks and pastries from now on.
My advice to management is to:
-hire someone to train you and your staff on how pull espresso, flavor drinks, to multitask, to work more efficiently, and how to provide customer service.
-And to move away from the fire roasted beans. That method is too difficult to maintain quality. Find a local roaster that uses the drum method and you’ll notice a big improvement in your drinks.
Your community wants to support you! Continue to educate and train your entire staff....
Read moreA city-grade coffee shop hidden in rural Juniata. There have been many restaurants that have come and gone over the years in Richfield, most of them being mediocre. I can safely say that this is not one of them. The food and coffee are fairly priced and well prepared. The addition of baked goods and local packaged foods is a nice addition as well. I can specifically recommend the grinder and chai (but all of the other coffee we tried was great as well). The breakfast sandwiches were slightly blander than I would have liked, but they were still good and certainly fresh. The staff were very polite and professional. As for the décor, I appreciate the art calling back the history of the building as a feed mill. Overall, the restaurant both inside and out gives a...
