When we walked in, we were cheerfully greeted with the manager and the waitress we had. Her name was Sam. We were asked if we wanted smoking or non smoking. We chose smoking. Shocked that a resteraunt still offered smoking section. Upon walking in the door, we did not smell any smokey bar smell as it seemed well ventilated. No nicotine residue on the walls or ceiling. Very clean. The bar was in the smoking section which is completely on an opposite side from the non smoking section. All of the tables were clean and chairs were in order at the tables. Booths were also clean. No food or crumbs on the floors, booths or tables. Sam was very pleasant. She was educational to her menu items when we asked if she had any recommendations, she never hesitated to tell us her favs. She kept our glasses full and checked on us often but wasn't overbearing. She definitely knows her job with certain level of friendliness. Honestly, I felt spoiled while on our visit there. It's been a long time since we've had that kind of service. The prices are VERY reasonable and doesn't seem like they price gouge thier product like every other restaurant while blaming it on inflation. I had a full size beef fajita plate with rice and beans, 3 tortillas, Pico, sour cream, and quac for $12.50. And they were so gooood. I had to bring half of it home. Our total was very reasonable even with an appetizer. I was fully expecting to spend atleast $50 for 2 people. We spent $28 on full meals for 2, an appetizer, 2 drinks, and chips and salsa. The best part of it all was Sam asked us after we were done if we wanted complimentary sopapillas for desert. I replied "Complementary?" She said "yes it comes with your meals" Who would pass that up? Served with butter and honey on the side. We were so full when we left. The friendliness and service and cleanliness was a HUGE plus for us. They were super accommodating and the food portions are a good size. Without a doubt, we will definitely be back! Thank you Sam for such great service today! And THANK YOU to the owners for keeping your place humble and not following the other business owners in greed, keeping it affordable. I will definitely tell my friends and family about your business. -Your...
Read moreWe were on a family vacation at the lake and decided to try this place out for dinner. We had 5 adults, a toddler and an infant. The place was not busy, only one other table and a few people in the bar area. Initially, our visit was fine...aside from the menus that smelled like a combination of vomit and mildew. We were eventually able to place our order. We then proceeded to wait about 25 minutes, while trying our best to desperately entertain a starving toddler. Now, I'm no "professional" chef by any means, but I've cooked a fair amount of meals in my time and I know for a pure fact that in no world would it ever take 25 minutes to cook 5 meals at a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint. The waitress never came over to update us, so we had to get up and find her to ask where our food is at. She says "we don't know what happened. Your order must have gotten lost somewhere between here and the kitchen. It will be another 10 minutes to make your food". She offered no solutions, just simply shrugged her shoulders and attempted to walk away. Now, again, I'm no restaurant owner, but please help me to understand exactly how this happens. There are no destinations between you, the order taker, and the kitchen...how could our order have gotten lost AND where could it have possibly gone?? You are getting payed tonight to give our order to the kitchen, and in such a very small place, how are you not able to accomplish that small easy task?? And again, the waitress offered no solutions, just expected us to continue waiting with now a starving toddler and a tired infant. Didn't offer to get us any food that was already cooked and didn't offer to even comp the teas and queso that we had to keep from starvation. We eventually decided that the extra 10 min wait wasn't going to be worth it by a mile, gathered up our belongings and walked out, more than happy to spend our...
