Joan + Joe Coffee is absolutely heavenly (I’ve never described a coffee shop like this before). It’s located in a small house off of Charles Town Road. Parking is behind the house. You walk through the front door of the house and right into a waiting area. There are no inside tables, but there are picnic tables and porta potties in the backyard of the house (behind all the parked cars).

Typically I do not order food when I am coffee shop hopping, but the menu had a sandwich called Bacon Jam Turkey Deli Delight with a description that read, “There is no equal.” Any sandwich with bacon jam and a description like that CANNOT be turned down. It was the best sandwich I have devoured in quite a while.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a little chocolate covered coffee bean sitting on the lid of my cup when I was handed my cortado. The unexpected gesture put a big smile on my face. The best part of the experience was the cortado; perfect temperature and ratio.

Walking out of the shop I noticed Joan + Joe Coffee was named the Best Shop in West Virginia for 2023 by the WV Living Magazine. They definitely earned the title Best...

Moved here from Seattle 3 years ago and haven’t found any local coffee shop similar to the coffee shops back home…Lots of coffee shops I’ve been to around here taste like burnt coffee and don’t have the nicest staff. We decided to give this place a try after hearing about it from some friends I was pleasantly surprised walking into Joan and joe coffee. From the moment I entered the atmosphere is beautiful and the people are very friendly. The coffee tasted so good like back in Seattle I can tell they know how to brew coffee and espresso like a professional. The coffee is absolutely delicious and I hope they plan on expanding bc we need more of these in town. We def will be making this a weekly stop now. LOVE this coffee shop. They are the absolute nicest people and service, quality and drinks are always consistently excellent! The sandwiches are very good and they offer coffee, cold brew and espresso drinks (and I'm sure others that I just don't know about yet) and plenty of milk options. I am obsessed with their pumpkin spice latte, it tastes like actual pumpkin and pie spices, not overly sweet and syrup-filled and synthetic tasting like all the others I've had at different places.
