Lynn's Drive-In — Restaurant in West Virginia

I visited Lynn's drive-in with my son over the weekend. This is a true drive-in service restaurant, they do have picnic tables outside where you can sit, and you're able to walk up to the window and give your order if you'd like but you can stay in your car and a person will walk up to your car and take your order and bring the food to your vehicle. I was very surprised at how busy this place was, I was there for about 45 minutes having my meal and the cars never stopped coming when one car would leave another one would pull right into the empty spot, the restaurant was able to keep up with the volume of cars and people did not have a very long wait to get their food. I ordered several things from the menu and I must say the food was very good, we ordered a hot dog(with chili mustard and onion the chili was excellent like on hot dogs I used to get when I was a kid), a cheeseburger, some french fries, and mini corn dogs and all of it was very good. I also ordered one of their steak sandwiches and the ingredients were very fresh the lettuce and tomato looked like it had been cut when the order was made, that sandwich was delicious. We also ordered ice cream for dessert, I got a banana split and my son got a chocolate dipped ice cream cone and it was very good as well. The quality of the food was very good and I would definitely eat here again also the food cost was quite reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. I have been going to Lynn’s Drivein for years . Always looked forward to it . My favorite was the hamburgers . But as of the last year there good has went down . Old lettuce and tomatoes And u can tell it’s been sitting there all day . So I tried BLT and the bacon was greasy and ver dark like it had been soaking in grease all day and left over frm earlier in the day . Not once but numerous times I have ordered and something wrong with the order. I’m so disappointed , because we don’t have slot of good places to choose frm anyway . The service is always good . But the food has went down . Nothing fresh anymore. I’ve worked in restaurants and fast food also and I know when ur getting what’s laid around all day . So, I haven't eaten here since probably the late 90's, but my dad goes all the time for hamburgers/hotdogs etc. My family went after my uncle's funeral last week to grab food on the way back home. Nothing has changed! You pull up and someone comes to see you for the order. We all got hotdogs and fries, and everything was spectacular! Made to order, delicious. Fries were fresher than most fast food places. The whole transaction took about 5-10 minutes, not long. You can also sit outside and enjoy the sunshine under a picnic table and umbrella. The nostalgia and consistency were comforting on a tough day. Recommended for anyone wanting to get diner food from someplace different than chains.
