Boondocks Restaurant — Restaurant in West Yellowstone

There aren't many places to eat out in Island Park, so we were happy to find Boondocks Restaurant. We have four young children, so we made sure to get there before 5:00 so we could order from the lunch menu. After 5, they don't offer kids meals, apparently. Also, be advised, they only accept check or cash -- no credit cards. The restaurant was full, so they had us sit outside on the porch to eat. It was a beautiful afternoon, and being outside allowed our kids to explore a bit instead of being confined to the table. The food was tasty, too. My wife got the Million Dollar Salad ($12.95) and described it as "everything you could ever want on a salad." I got the Philly Cheesesteak ($9.50), which was pretty tasty, as well. I have a cabin right up the road and every time we pass Boondocks my dad raves about their food. So I finally decided to give it a try and I was very impressed. They have a surprisingly impressive selection of food, especially for being in Island Park. I find that most food places in island park have mediocre food and souly rely on their location for business but this place is NOT THAT. Their food is AMAZING and is the priority here. This is a small local restaurant where I am sure everyone knows everyone by name in the small city of Island Park. We had the fish and chips and a vegetarian burger. Both were ok. I wouldn't say they were great but had the right flavor. The fries, ranch and tartar sauces were great. The staff was great and they accept only cash and checks.
