I have never been so consistently appalled by a cafeteria’s quality of food, service, cleanliness, and general upkeep. It is a borderline health hazard to every student on campus to feed them this food in this environment — food here has gotten me sick, I have found dirty dishes put out where clean dishes should be (pictured), and despite being a cafeteria that I pay *two thousand dollars per semester* for in what Westfield State laughably calls their “Unlimited Plan”, there are at least four hours a day in which nearly no food is out. Even if food is out, it is often cold or stale, sometimes during peak hours. I can confidently say that living in Westfield State has done more for my weight loss than any diet I’ve ever attempted. I’m skipping meals and burning a hole in my pocket paying for food elsewhere because whatever “food” that gets served here borders on and often is completely inedible.

I go to this school, and I also have Celiac disease. This dining commons fails to provide any sort of real gluten free options. They say they do, and yet I get sick every time I eat here. Then again, if you check the menu and look at the gluten free section it’s chicken 9 times out of 10. I live off of dry (sometimes uncooked) chicken, and ask to order meals that the workers don’t know how to make. I asked one of the workers for a gluten free quesadilla. They looked nervous and 10 minutes later I was served this.

Came here with my boyfriend at 3:00, and all of the stations had no food and were covered like this. When I asked a worker about how long the wait would be for food, they told me that there wouldn’t be food out until 5:00. I’m a college student who pays my own tuition and for my car and it’s insurance. What the hell am I supposed to eat?

O, hear me, ye who dine within these walls once hallowed! The dining hall of Westfield, erstwhile a place of delight, hath fallen into disrepair. The magic that once graced our plates hath vanished, leaving naught but repetition and dismay.

Each week, the same fare returns, unworthy even of a single serving. The global section, once a journey of flavors, is now reduced to a mere dip station. The culinary spirit hath fled, and in its place, a void remains.

Would that the fiery Gordon Ramsay himself could intervene, to breathe life into this lifeless kitchen. Yet, even he might find the task insurmountable. My heart is heavy with disappointment, for what was once a haven of nourishment is now but a shadow of its former self.

Let us hope for a revival, that the dining hall may once again be a place of joy...

The food here is laughable in its state rn. I get there at 3 and there’s nothing but old chicken left out for hours, stale fries, overcooked pasta and hard as bricks bread. Gordon Ramsay should do an episode of Kitchen Nightmares on this place, that’s how pathetic it can be. I have the unlimited meal plan and there are millions of other things I could be spending this money on that’s not just going in the pockets of people who don’t care for the food. Oh I should mention the “worry free zone”… I would say something but because they offer so little in terms of options that there’s nothing to say. Sad to see this happening. Sad to be here, and sad to be...
