China Wok — Restaurant in Westlake

I am in the hospital with my mom that is admitted call the chines please to order, I paid by phone gave her name of person picking up order she said it would be ready in 10 min never did she mention she had to leave to go to hospital. My son in law was on his way to pick up order and the lady called stating she is leaving my order in the convinces store because she has to leave. I tell her no that’s bad service I’m in hospital my son in law is on his way she said she couldn’t wait I told her I would go to wait by the time I was there my son in law was there lady very rude saying she waited almost 20 min. I told her she should have said I have to leave in 10 min and I wouldn’t have ordered there. And to my surprise when we got back to hospital room that looked at order she forgot to put the pork fried rice so I called and lady was still there had not gone to no hospital. She also started she called me cause 10 min had past and the person that was going to pick up was not there and they get stuck with orders that never get picked up and I reminded her that I had paid the order by phone so Someone was picking up order!! Just bad service all!! Well never go...

Walking into the restaurant, I noticed the seating area and kitchen was visibility well cleaned. We ordered a chicken lo mein combination plate, two orders of crab Rangoon and an order of orange chicken. Chicken lo mein: very tasty and huge portion. Crab Rangoon: Did not come with sweet and sour but for me that's not an issue as I usually prefer duck sauce. The Rangoon had a notible amount of crab and was not overpowered by cream cheese as is most other places. The orange chicken: one review was correct in saying it was brown (which it was) but the chicken was fried well and had a good texture. The orange sauce was more subtle than the orange glaze I'm used to with Chinese takeout, but ultimately was well balanced in flavor and had a homely feel to it..

Overall while I'm pretty picky about Chinese takeout, and this area may not have the best options...but this place is definitely worth trying and I will be coming back to explore more...

If I could give a tiny sliver of a star I would. Egg foo, Gen chick, spring/egg rolls, the "steamed" wontons were all over cooked or burnt to a crisp. When you get fried rice it's not just colored yellow or when pork fried rice usual there is pork. Also everything was so bland and had no taste. Now I'm not the kinda person who calls to complain let alone post something like this. BUT I have gone back here 3or more times in 10 years and each time its $#!+. I called up to just mention my dissatisfaction politely and not asking for any refund. Right when I said that I had picked up food I got cussed at and hung up on. Thinking that it was an accident I called back they did it twice more. NICE

Update: Under further investigation and dissection I really doubt that was chicken we ate.

Update Again: All 4 of us have since gotten sick. Lucky me I ate the least I've only...
