I finally did it, I have been driving past this diner for several years when I was up this area for work related trips and have always said I would like to check them out, today was the day. I had hoped to be able to check out a lunch or dinner but since I was in the area for breakfast, I came in and got what was a very good meal. Because my work involves driving a school bus. I was a little bit concerned about having a place to park the bus however I figured that if necessary I could park it up the road and walk back. Fortunately though, there was an abandoned business across the street that I was able to park my bus and two other buses followed my lead and parked theirs in there as well. Prior to entering I did pull the menu up on my telephone just to see what I might want to get and noticed an awful lot of noise in the neighborhood possibly from a train that was running across the road. Fortunately, upon entering the diner I did not hear the outside noise at all so it was not a problem but I would hate to be a resident there that has to deal with that much racket all the time. Upon being seated, I was given ample time to be able to scan the menu to decide what to get and decided on a special since it included the coffee in the price. I usually will not get coffee out because it's not usually as good as mine at home but this was very good. After ordering my meal I noticed a lot of people coming in the place were greeted by the employees like they knew them pretty well. So I'm guessing that it is a good place that locals go back to on a regular basis. I will definitely try to get back up here again if in the area but hopefully it will be a dinner time or at least lunch. The only reason I did not give them a good mark on the atmosphere was because of the train noise that although it was not there when I walked out, there was a lot of other traffic noise that I don't really care to have to listen to but I'm only passing through so I don't have to deal with it regularly.

We loved this place when they first opened but tonight will be the last time get food from there. We ordered a to go order over the phone and picked it up. When we got home we were not happy to see so much was missing. There are 4 of us and each one of us had things missing. 2 paninis, both missing slaw and pickle, a burger missing slaw and pickle and the soup, and Fish & chips missing fries, soup and dessert. Then there's a $.50 charge for each for take out. Seriously????? You don't give us all of the things that are listed as being included in but then you charge extra. No, it's not a ton of money but it's the principal of it. No where on the website does it mention an additional charge for take out. If your options change, then change you're online menu and ordering. (See the screenshots, showing the missing items are included in the price. All the food was dry, almost inedible. Burger was requested med well and it came extra extra well done. The rolls that were provided were out of date, by almost a week. What else are you serving that's out of date???? When my daughter in law went in to pick up the order she was ignored while the man at the register gabbed with a bunch of people, completely ignoring her. We wish you the best Piston but you have lost us as customers.

4/1/22. Service was great. Large menu. Wasn't impressed with the Brazilian Chicken wasnt very flavorful. Small portion. Ordered sautéed spinach it was mostly rice which i never have seen in sautéed spinach. gross! Rice diesnt belong in sautéed spinach oil garlic salt period.Salad bar was ok but the hard boiled egg container was empty and not refilled. Sizzling chicken fajitas were great. Large portion and very good. My daughter said. Wife had sizzling salmon was good she said. The other daughter had a Panini chicken parm. She said it was great n fries were delicious. But was very upset with the cole slaw. It came in a McDonald's dipping sauce size container? Come on , cole slaw is cheap give a decent portion? I have two suggestions more veggies offered as sides. Im keto and so offering 6 different potatoes n 1 vegetable is limiting even to veggitarians. Also id recommende a better cole slaw recipe and give a better portion. i get ur trying to manage costs but come on that cup was for ketchup not a side. Prices were fair. Last point rice pudding a staple at dinners and a must be good one. It was watery had over cooked mush rice i threw it away terrible. Do better there . also the (to go )portion was the size of a dixie cup. Again come on its pennys to make. Im gonna try again. I hope this helps the owner do better. This could be a 5 star with some diligence. Also chicken cordon bleu maybe? I go out to dinners every week I enjoy a low key mom n pop type food . But they have to nail the basics of a meal. No disrespect....

I went there for dinner last night and was thoroughly impressed. The first thing that caught my attention was how AMAZING the place smelled as soon as we walked in. For a diner, I was not expecting to be hit with a great smell sensation.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The owner even stopped by our table to see if we were enjoying the food. This is just for me, but when the owner is there and they pop by your table, it's a nice way of saying they care about your experience and their business.

As for the food, they have an EXTENSIVE soup menu!! I had their award winning potato leak soup, and I wish I got some to take home. Everything we ordered, the meatloaf, wrap, soups, were above your standard issue diner food. For a local joint, I was impressed.

I will definitely be coming back and with friends!

The one downside: the desserts; it was really lacking. If they had more dessert options just like their soup selection, I would come here more often! Just a suggestion -- get rid of the ugly square tower case and invest in a regular case to show off the desserts -- it was not noticeable of what kind of desserts you had and the case just seemed sad/lackluster for options. Please invest in more dessert options to make this place complete!!

All in all, great local spot!!! A...
