I visited Makris Diner today for breakfast, and while I noticed the many awards displayed on the walls, my experience was quite the opposite of what I expected.

I ordered a soda with a cup of ice, an omelet, and a side of bacon. For the omelet, I specifically asked that the vegetables and meat be folded inside rather than mixed throughout. I also requested to substitute the two standard sides with just fruit, and I was told there would be an upcharge—which I was fine with.

The first odd moment came when the waitress apologized, saying they were out of ice. A short time later, someone else brought me a cup of ice after all. When my omelet arrived, it wasn’t prepared as requested—the vegetables and meat weren’t folded in, and the dish came with potatoes I had asked not to receive. On top of that, the vegetables inside the omelet were raw, as if they hadn’t been cooked at all.

Finally, when the bill arrived, it was handwritten and difficult to read, with no itemized prices. From the total, I could tell they charged me full price for the fruit substitution.

YouTube is a good source to learn how to properly make an omelet. If a restaurant wants to justify charging all the money then consistency and quality should...

Hadn't been here in many years (used to go to Great American Skate back in the day) after skating we'd either go to The Olympia Diner or Makris. When we walked in that distinctive odor that only Makris has brought back memories. We were told to seat ourselves anywhere. Once seated (3 of us) the server brought us menus (2) I guess kids don't get to look at the menus. We ordered a tuna melt with fries, a cheeseburger with fries, and fish & chips. Also 1 soda. The food was basic diner food, nothing outstanding. Fish and chips was just that, fish and chips with a little piece of lemon and tartar sauce and NO coleslaw. 3 perfectly formed pieces of frozen/fried mystery fish that tasted ok but.... every meal just seemed to be lacking "something" all in all it was a decent lunch but, definitely not worth the $45 we paid. I'm thinking that the prices are reflecting the lack of people in there at noon on a workday on the...

The service was A1... Walking in felt so welcoming the greeted us as soon as we came in as if they knew us. Before we were seated they asked us what we wanted to drink then proceeded to seat us . The prices were affordable and the amount of food was great ( it was a lot) we specifically went there for the grits ... They were great... But all the meats was by far the greatest ✨... The kielbasa ... The pastrami.. and the sausage was to die for just amazing... The hostess was kind and patient (it was our first time ) she explained everything to a T. It was such a great experience... And at the end we spoke to I believe to the manager on site and she was so bubbly and kind she asked about us and told us she hope to see us again and that it was a pleasure to have us. We are deff going to become regulars... Deff worth coming if you want to enjoy a piece of home ♥️ It deff...

This establishment has been here since the early 50s, though I doubt it still has its original owner. This is a diner it the most classical sense. It is notnkne of those places pretending to be something it isn't. A lot of so called diners nowadays are nothing more than resturants with a counter. This is a true holdover from when the best way from Boston to New York City was by taking US-5 which conveniently still runs right in front of the place. The food was as one would expect. There was nothing that stood out stunningly. The burger was large, and the onion rings were able to satiate my weekly grease intake. I will still be going back here at least one more time, but I'll be trying something else instead. One thing I was disappointed in was that there didn't seem to be any pies. I was looking forward to trying a diner pie, but alas, it was not ment to be.

I took my wife type individual here to get breakfast Sunday. We went at a traditional time, but this place actually has All-Day Breakfast as well as All-Day Lunch. I had my usual, go-to choice of a Wild Western Omelet. It was tasty. We want to come here again to get some great Polish food for lunch in the near future. Our server was nice, although she kept forgetting to bring a water to the table. It was our first time going here and it went fairly well. Not a bad first impression,..
