Merrill's Colonial Inn — Restaurant in Weymouth Township

Went to Merrill's for some outdoor dining as we're all doing right now. We were seated and ordered cocktails. The service was great! Spanky was our server and she was very nice all things considered. All precautions were taken, she wore face shield and gloves the entire time. I ordered the special stuff zucchini and I had a side of meatballs there was so much on the plate I couldn't finish it and it was delicious. My wife ordered a seafood dish with the same circumstances it was very good but the portions very big made a great dinner the night after. Also was served a very large salad that was similar to what my grandmother used to make I loved it. The desserts are homemade, no joke, homemade three-layer carrot cake and a lemon ricotta pie. We split one and took the other home. Needless to say I will be going back there even if it's just for dessert. Also had the pleasure of meeting Angel the owner and operator family owned business. I have been to this restaurant years ago, I wanted to try it again by the reviews. When we walked in tonight, nobody greeted us. The waitress who was the bartender for Saturday 12/23/23 would not look us in the face, just took our order. Did not come around very often, she did seem to talk to the other people @ the bar. When dinner was over she asked if we wanted dessert and went over only some of the dessert menu, as I heard her say the dessert menu (2) times before to other customers. Dessert Heaven. It was hot, and we had a birthday for the one of our kids who hates cake and instead loves fluffy pies. All quarantine long, Merrill's was posting tantalizing pics of their to-go options, including some impressive pies, so we got some birthday desserts--everyone got their favorite! Peanut Butter pie, Banana Cream, and a chocolate and vanilla mousse. YUM. Birthday girl was a happy camper. Generously sized. Friendly folks. It was during Quarantine Phase Out, so the diners were outside, and I have not seen their indoors or tasted their dinners. Pickup was back porch.
