We were a family of 3 adults, an 11 year old and a toddler. We went in last night to celebrate my Granddaughter and my birthday's for which my husband called in advance to set up as a special occasion. This was totally ignored. As we entered we were greeted and told to be seated in the far corner. (a small table for 4 and they drug up highchair to squeeze in). The waitress greeted us and took drink orders. She returned and tried to take our order. We ordered appetizers and I ask for sweetener for my tea. She brought out the appetizers, no sweetener, she forgot it, and continued to take our order. We ask for the dipping oil for the bread and that was brought to the table along with my salad. We ask for extra napkins, we have kids. By now a few more table were seated and she was gone. When she did reappear, we ask again for more napkins and she handed us a stack of bathroom paper towels off of a cart behind our table. I also told her the dipping oil was too hot to eat and she could take it. She left it on the table as one of the other tables needed attention. She returned and told us she tasted the oil and Yes it was hot due to the longer it sits, the hotter it gets. This must have been sitting for awhile. It was like eating a fire pepper. They would bring out a new batch to us. She forgot that too, I guess. My salad was drenched in way too much dressing. We ordered a pizza. Some guy that worked there came by and told us it was the best pizza and we would definitely be back for the pizza. I'm sorry, but I was not a fan! Oh, and I never did get a refill or even ask if I needed a refill of my tea. The rest of the food was ok at best but not anything I would go back to. When we ask for a to go box, that was forgotten too. We also got those off the cart behind our table. I don't know if this waitress was new to the job, needed more training or just has a bad memory. But the cake we bought off the menu for our birthday's was good. At best this is just another sub-par pizza place and not what we thought....
Read moreFood for the most part was good. 3 of us had the Alfredo. Sauce was good but The 2 with grilled chicken said it was very dry. The chicken parm was very good along with the side of spaghetti. Service was good until we asked for the breadsticks. We were told that it comes once your food order is placed. Food arrives no bread. We asked again for bread and was told they are making some but another table who arrived before us were still waiting. We took that to mean we were not getting that batch either. My husband, who was absent from the table during this conversation, came back and made the mistake of again requesting some bread. A few minutes later our waitress literally tossed a basket of bread on our table and walked off. All of us were speechless at this demonstration. We then discovered we only received 3 breadsticks for the 4 of us. Another problem I had is that this is an Italian restaurant yet we were never offered any fresh Parmesan. Nor did I see it offered at any other table. Normally I would have requested it but did not want to deal with the attitude. Because of the food we would have tried again but will not be back due to...
Read moreSorella's is a breath of fresh air for the town of Wharton. There is maybe one other place in town that I would recommend for out of towners to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere of Sorella's is very enjoyable and perfect for an Italian joint. The food is delicious. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner there along with our grandson. We shared the Supreme pizza 🍕!! So so good. As long as Sorella's is open - We will not order pizza from the other two pizza places in town. The pizza was fresh and more than enough for the two of us. In fact, we needed a to go box for the left overs.
We ordered the kids spaghetti 🍝 plate for our grandson and he loved it. It was more than he could handle in one sitting !!
We also had the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer !! Also very delicious.
Marti hand crafted a very cute holiday special drink from the bar 🍸!!
The lighting was perfect. Not too noisy. Not too crowded.
Perfect for date night or family dinner.
Thankful for Amanda and Emily taking a chance in their hometown to bring us a place that is actually worth going to for a proper dinner !!
We will be regulars there in no time...
