Love this place. First time there. Have always wanted to go, just never made it. Very loud, but didn't bother us. Wish it was set up a little bit differently, so the people in the front part of the restaurant could enjoy the band in the back. Service was great. Food was amazing, especially the walnut bread pudding...... to die for.

Cream of chicken & rice soup was full of chicken and hint of lemon. Mac daddy burger was a mess but in a good way, solid burger cheesy mac & cheese and tots were crispy. CBLT had crispy and juicy chicken and fries were good, not great. Definitely go back, especially with outdoor seating. Need to try a pizza next time

It would be a bit of a stretch to designate Jimmy D's as a gastropub; reality suggests it is a pub, that serves bar food, to be fair and plain about the matter.

If you will forgive that first transgression, and just weigh the bar against every other bar you've ever been to, it's not a bad bar. That said, I give the place three stars - mainly because I've been to some really bad bars and they get a 1/5, and I've been to some really great bars, and they get a 5/5 - and this place is just smack dab in the middle of the middle, scoring 3/5.

Jimmy's is everything you'd expect from a "bro friendly" Sports Bar. From the mostly female wait staff/bartenders, to the obviously "not from America" barbacks. Jimmy D's District is clearly average, from front-to-back-of-house, with glimmers of 4/5 stars, however adled in its mediocre atmosphere.

It is positioned as the last rodeo, nearby the Metra commuter rail, which begs the question of: why do they have a $15 debit or credit card minimum? I happen to have worked in both the hospitality and card services industries, and a much more appropriate minimum for this place (given location) would have been $10, however should they wish to consistently serve a clientele in transit at the Metra Station, they should really set it to 5 bucks. It strikes me that the minimum is by design, and as counter intuitive as it might seem, again, given location and proximity to commuter rail, they simply might not want to encourage that business.

It strikes me that while the place has "everything in place" to become, or strive to be better than average, Jimmy D's seems to make a conscious effort to stay in the mediocre "District".

Absentee management seems to rule as a common symptomatic denominator in such places, only mentioning this as a side note, from my experience.

Bottom line: Jimmy D's is an average sports bar that serves food - if you're into simply watching sports, at bars,, you might love it - as long as you are content knowing that you will not experience anything greater within...

Jimmy D’s District has become my go-to spot for a winning night out, seamlessly blending the vibrant atmosphere of a restaurant and bar with the excitement of live music and sports.

The ambiance at Jimmy D’s is electric, making it the perfect place to catch a Blackhawks game. The lively crowd, paired with the strategically placed screens, ensures you won't miss a moment of the action. The spirited energy in the air during game nights is contagious, creating a sense of camaraderie among fellow sports enthusiasts.

What sets Jimmy D’s apart is its commitment to providing not just a spectacle for the eyes but also a feast for the taste buds. The menu boasts a delicious array of dishes, each offering a burst of flavor that complements the lively atmosphere. From game day staples to more refined options, there's something for every palate.

The addition of live music takes the experience to a whole new level. The carefully curated performances enhance the already buzzing ambiance, turning an ordinary night into an extraordinary one.

Whether you're a Blackhawks fan, a music lover, or simply seeking a great meal in a lively setting, Jimmy D’s District delivers on all fronts. It has earned its place as a local favorite, and I always look forward to the next game or live performance at this dynamic establishment. Cheers to Jimmy D’s for hitting the perfect note between entertainment, sports, and...

We always wanted to stop and eat, and finally did last week. First off, it’s an awkward entry- you walk right into the bar area and we didn’t see a host or server until we made our way into the dining area. Booths and tables, plenty of seating but kinda dark but might’ve been due to dusk. We were greeted then by a server who said take any table, so we took one of the cleaned booths. Menus arrived and took our drink order. We ordered an app to start and mixture of chili, salads and sandwiches, including the torta and chicken ciabatta club. Also server asked us if we wanted refills and we finished our food. All tasty and healthy portions. Their menu isn’t cheap and we realized that quickly and anticipated a big bill. Unfortunately what we didn’t expect was to get charged for every refill the server asked us if we wanted and never mentioned that refills weren’t free like most places. That added nearly $10 to the bill which would’ve been a nice courtesy to let us know ahead of time. We won’t go broke, but at the same time that seems a bit disingenuous to ask for to refill a beverage and not alert guests. Still all in...
