After working outside most of the day on 12 Nov. I ordered carryout because I didn't feel like cooking dinner when I got home. I ordered the burrito dinner because I really had a taste for their rice and beans. My wife put dinner on the plate and I asked where were my rice and beans. "There are none." I called the restaurant, spoke with a nice lady who said they would refund me my money for the burrito dinner since I now needed to make more dinner and to just come in the next day.
13 Nov. I went back to get my refund around 1130 am. I explained what happened the day before and provided my receipt. All the 2 women there wanted to refund me was the difference in price between the burrito and dinner price. The two women were rude and disrespectful. I asked for their names, and they declined to provide them and said that they did not care if I didn't return.
A NOTE TO THE OWNER: We have been coming here for years, have always enjoyed your place, we drive past another Mexican food restaurant to get to yours, and have told countless number of people how good your place is. Today that has changed. I never NEED Mexican food, I come by you to support your business. These 2 women have lost you MY business and any further recommendations, plus this review. If I need to make dinner after ordering at your place and deal with rude staff, there is no reason for me to visit your restaurant anymore. I will either cook at home or find another place to order (there are plenty in the area). This is what a long time patron who has helped support you during COVID looks like when they stop...
Read morePretty disappointed in this place. It's our first and most likely the last time we'll be ordering from here. To begin with, they need to update the prices on their website. We were charged $10 more than their listed menu price. I would suggest to the owner to change this asap if they want to avoid more irrate customers! Moving on, we ordered the Parillada for 2. Without a doubt, the worst I've ever had. The Carne Asada was so unbelievably thin I'm surprised you couldn't see through it! It looked like the sole of a shoe and was just as dry, not to mention highly salted. The rest of the meat consisted of dry charred pieces of chicken, steak and Chorizo. Didn't see any ribs in there to speak of (as the menu states). Next, among the mixture of dry, burned meat were bits of pineapple!? My husband is Argentine so he knows a thing or two about Parillada, he admitted that he has never had Pineapple in this dish no matter where in South or Latin America he was (it's not listed on the menu either). It was just odd and didn't add anything to the dish except a weird burnt sweetness. I guess they feel the need to add it because the meat is so dry?! Lastly, the beans and rice that came as the sides were a very small portion for 2 people. The best part of the meal were the homemade tortillas. Won't be ordering...
Read more1742 E. Kensington Rd. & Wolf Road, Mount Prospect IL. Another hidden gem. Somewhat "out of the way" Mexican restaurant. Think I counted about 8 tables? So seats about 32 people comfortably? Menu is varied but not overwhelming. Pollo (pulled chicken) sandwich was excellent as dinner included refried beans & rice equally excellent. I noted several offerings of shrimp tacos and what I believe is a variation on shrimp scampi add "heat" which I will check out next stop. The menu is very interesting, simple, prices from a few dollars to something over $10.00 ? Even if I missed something upwards of $15 or $18, would not scare me away. This is good food. Decor is simple in bright natural light location with some outdoor seating. Service was with smile. No wait for seating-it was 5:30pm. 2 customers ahead of us and 5 more came in over next 30 minutes + 3 take-outs. This place has less space than that TB fast-food joint. My bride's burrito was perfect, hot & fresh. If these folks can deliver and follow-up tables with near or full house...they deserve as much community support as the NW suburbs can give. They are not hard to find. I think they are well more than a passing stop and go. See what you think. I like simple + good. Thanks. 02birdog...
