I paid for a small order online. I wanted to try this place again since the first time, they never ended up accepting my online order and I needed to be refunded. This time, the site said it would take 30 minutes. That’s fine. I went to go pick it up and ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes in the small, cramped entry way with 5 other people. I felt bad for standing so close to a table with a couple eating in. I ended up waiting outside in the cold for 30 of those extra minutes since there is basically nowhere to stand. The server didn’t seem to care that 6 total people were shoulder-to-shoulder waiting for their food for over 30-45 mins. It started to get ridiculous. He was taking his time and gave no apology about the wait time. Just stared at us every time he walked past. One person was telling me he has been waiting 2 hours for his online order. People were losing their patience. I was about to leave and just get a refund (again) when my order was finally given to me. Food was okay but not worth that wait. Wouldn’t recommend ordering online. If you do, wait 2 hours and...

After a long day I really wanted sushi, I found this place on google maps and it had great reviews and the pictures of the food looked Amazing! So, we stopped in here after packing up our booth and the place was busy! That’s always a great sign. The wait for a table wasn’t too long and pretty soon we were seated. I saw they had ramen and udon dishes so we opted to get 2 rolls to split and we each had a noodle dish. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and my husband had the Spicy Chicken Yaki Udon. I wanted the Philadelphia Roll and he got the Kamikaze Roll. They had Soju and I never had it before so I tried the peach Soju. Everything was Absolutely Delicious 🤤 if you want good food and great prices you definitely need to eat here! I saved this place on my maps so I can take my friend when we come back for Anime Midwest in July. 5 Stars, I would rate 10 if I could! They also give you a little cup of miso soup too that was...

So many issues unfortunately: While the miso soup is free, it was one of the worst I have. Very watery and had an overall bad taste. Spicy Veggie Miso Ramen: The egg yolk had gone green and was way overcooked. The tofu was raw and flavorless. The miso broth was the same as the miso soup, no real dashi flavor. Spicy Salmon Roll: The spicy sauce was gochujang, which was odd and overly sweet. A spicy mayo would be much better. Akedashi Tofu (as it's called on the menu): No dashi flavor, no scallion. Just fried tofu with bonito and a teriyaki sauce? That's not right. Bento Box: I tried to swap the california roll (allergy) for an avocado roll, but the waiter would not allow it. Not sure why because it's just removing the imitation crab from the roll. TV was playing a slapstick comedy show, which made the ambiance odd for a hole in the wall sushi...

Sakae Sushi is an absolute gem! I was impressed by the freshness and quality of the sushi—it rivals some of the higher-end spots but without the pretentious vibe or steep prices. The sushi was flavorful, and expertly prepared. You can tell they really care about what they’re serving. The presentation was clean and elegant, and everything comes out at absolutely beautifully. The service is consistently warm and attentive. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, they’re organized and efficient. The atmosphere strikes a great balance—relaxed and welcoming, but still polished enough for a nice dinner out. Whether it’s a casual sushi night, a date, or a small celebration, this place delivers every time. I highly recommend Sakae Sushi if you’re in the area!

So nice to have great, affordable sushi right in the neighborhood! My husband and I ordered spicy chicken udon noodles, three rolls, and miso soups for under $50. The rolls were great, and we were really pleased with their size given their prices. The crab in the rolls is a crab salad, which tasted just fine but something to be aware of. We also thought the noodles might be considered more ginger-y than spicy. All tasted good though! Take out order came with everything you'd expect plus little disposable soy sauce trays. Cute! Would order from here again and would try dine in as well.
