WOW!!! Let me just start by saying that the owner, Rich, is nothing but an arrogant businessman! I ordered a pizza for delivery and the employee on the phone took my order, address and gave me a total. 10 minutes later, Rich calls back saying that they do not deliver to my location and would not deliver to my location. I would think as a business owner, Rich would take RESPONSIBILITY for his employee's MISTAKE and deliver to my location. However, instead he constantly said he would not deliver, never once took fault or even apologized. Even when I brought up the FACT this was his and his employee's mistake - not my mistake. This was a lack of training on HIS end, and his response to my asking how does he think you can run a successful business when you do not properly train your employees was 1) The individuals taking the orders are just high school students and 2) Wayne's has been around for 50 years so he guesses they are doing pretty good. My thought on Rich's response is does Rich not have trust in his own employees to train them on street names and/or delivery boundaries? Does he not think a 16 or 17 year old can understand what a street is? What kind of business owner does not have faith in young individuals - the individuals who will some day run their own business? I don't even want to put effort into thinking about Rich's bigot comment about how his business is doing pretty good.
In 5 minutes talking to Rich, I have come to the conclusion he does not sound like a good boss, successful business owner or even a contributing member to the development of our youth. I just cannot support a business, regardless if they have been around for 50 years or 5 months, where the business owner blatantly does not care for his employees or customer satisfaction.
I have been in this area for a little over 2 years now, and thought I had finally found our pizza place... I guess its back...
Read moreAt 58 years young, Wayne's has been a mainstay in Arlington Heights longer (not by much!) Than I've been alive. It's managed this by being, and I don't say this lightly as a lifelong Chicago area native, by just being simply the best pizza in Illinois. Unfortunately, they've managed to accomplish this feat by also remaining Illinois' biggest pizza secret.
Growing up, this was often our go-to for my family for pizzas on weekends. As an adult, who now lives 45m away, it remains my go-to for "my" special days- my birthday and Father's Day, which is a shame- because the pizza near me is acceptable, but no one comes near theirs, PARTICULARLY when it comes to a BBQ pizza, where the sauce will pretty much dictate whether a BBQ pizza will be enjoyed. No one else's captures the perfection of Wayne's, which has me finishing leftovers at every meal until gone, rather than ending up pitching the leftovers.
The REAL star, regardless of whether you go traditional or BBQ is their famous "double decker" pizza- 2 thin crusts, each with the same level of toppings, sauce, and cheese, stacked together.
Do yourself a favor & make the effort to pick up a pizza from Wayne's. For those who don't even normally enjoy BBQ pizzas, I've converted them with the double decker, BBQ sauce & bacon- just don't go for bloodwork anytime soon thereafter, because the amount of bacon is going to skew the results of your cholesterol levels. Another favorite is the "garbage pizza"- pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, mushroom, and onion. Delicious.

Read moreI've been ordering from Wayne's for years and last night, Halloween night, was the worst. Only reason I don't give them zero stars is because my order was not what I was expecting and I hope this is not a trend at Wayne's. Ordered 3 of their specialty pizzas and they were terrible, worst being the double curst buffalo pizza, the curst was like hard cardboard and burnt. I've ordered double crust before and it was never like this. It was so bad nobody had more than a try, most of the pizza went to waste and I like buffalo pizza. The other two thin crust pizzas were burnt, even the kids complained about the burnt pizza. We had a bunch of people over mostly kids and normally all of the pizza is gone, but not tonight. We were original was just going to order from Dominos (because the kids are not picky) but someone suggest lets just order Wayne's. To make matters worst, the bad pizza was a topic of conversation the next day during breakfast. It may be awhile before I go to Wayne's again and if I do, I will just be ordering something small to test the quality. Wayne's is off my goto neighborhood pizza place. I think the owners of Wayne's should evaluate the quality of their product because...
