We saw this place on Tennessee Crossroads and had it save in our "want to go" list. We were very disappointed. We went for lunch on a Friday, arriving shortly after opening time. The exterior is very blah, so much so that we at first thought the place was no longer in business. But it was open and we went in and were seated right away. Our waitress was young and nice enough, but she did not seem to have much experience in the service industry. I ordered the ribs and wife ordered the 12 oz. ribeye steak cooked medium. The silverware comes wrapped in a napkin, and we knew we would need more napkins, especially since I ordered the ribs. Wife asked waitress if we could please get more napkins and she brought a few "bar" napkins...the small square ones you place under your drinks. That was a first. Who uses those kind of napkins during a meal, especially when eating ribs? I just grabbed two more wrapped silverwares from a neighboring table. Side salads came out first and they were good. Lettuce was nice and fresh and ranch dressing was good. Then the entrees came out. Our waitress asked us if "everything looked good", and we said yes. Then she never came back to see how things tasted or if we needed anything else. She finally came around when we were almost done eating and asked if we wanted more water. That was it. She didn't ask how the food was or anything. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, but I did not care for the sauce on them at all. Too tangy, but that's the chance you take with barbeque I guess. Wife's $30 ribeye was super thin with tons of fat/gristle on one end and less than half the steak was medium. The rest was well-done and over cooked. We were on a time schedule and didn't have time to wait for them to cook a new steak, so she just ate it. Spent over $60 for lunch for two and was very disappointed in the whole...
Read moreWe've ate at Colorado grill a few times now. Each time we've ran into something that wasn't right. The first time we ordered fried mushrooms and one of fried objects was filled with a mysterious filling, something that definitely wasn't a mushroom. Manager was unsure as well. Second time the catfish plate was missing the fried jalapeño slices as a garnish. Which seems small, but I really wanted them, and that was exactly why i ordered it. Manager assured me that they couldn't get jalapeños and would be updating the menu to reflect the change in the fish dish. So, we go in today. Menu still says jalapeño slices. Maybe they could get them now. But the manager didn't wanna do anything to make the experience better at the time.
Today I ordered a ny strip steak, medium rare. Came out medium well. Looked really good, but sent it back to see if they could get closer to the medium rare, it's a 30 dollar meal. So, I wanted to it to be how I ordered it. The 2nd steak was more rare than I like and looked nothing like the original steak that I received. The 3rd try was closer to medium rare, but again, looked nothing like the original steak I received. Remakes were of the same quality and the 3rd one cooked, which I ate, was very grisly. I question the quality of meat provided on the remakes. If I would have known the alternative, I would have just eaten the original steak as is. Difference between first and 3rd try was like a steak straight from a butcher and steak from kroger.
Food is decent overall, but seeming to be not worth the cost and continued issues. Maybe I'm...
Read moreI gave the Colorado Grill a five star review even though we waited at least a half hour to get in. But we were told when we entered that it would be that long so we had no problem with that. We are glad that we waited! Upon entering you'll see the host / hostess straight ahead, benches to the right and in front of you for seating while you wait, and a very large moose on the left hand side. We enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were all bustling around and other diners were chatting at their tables but it was not overly loud. We were approached very quickly for our drink orders and given menus along with silverware, napkins and appetizer plates. Our waitress, Destiny, did a great job of taking our order and our wait time was not that long considering how busy they were. We were brought two tasty small loaves of bread along with butter to enjoy while we waited for our appetizer. We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They rated right up there with some of the best fried green tomatoes we've ever had. I had a 6 ounce sirloin steak, a baked potato and a side salad. Everything about my meal was delicious. My husband had a cheeseburger, fries ( which he requested be cooked well done and they were) and a side salad. He said everything was cooked perfectly and was very good. My water even came room temperature as I requested. That might not sound like much but almost every restaurant I go to brings me water with ice in it even though I request that they don't. Kudos to this restaurant for a...
