I'm sitting at my table outside of Pixan, my girlfriend seated across from me. Four tables were open inside, but the hostess assured us it would be a 20 minute wait. I'm dying of thirst, I've asked three separate waiters for a glass of water, they've all assured me it's coming soon. I ordered at the front, I tipped the cashier 20% because he remarked at the heaviness of my American Express, their digital ordering system wasnt alphabetically organized.
He becomes one of the three people I ask for water, I regret my tip. I ask for a list of their meat selection, cactus is one of the options. The outside waiter is clearly high. He becomes one of the three people I ask for water.
Time passes.
We are brought appetizer saucers by a previously unknown waitress, we did not order any appetizers. She becomes the third person I ask for water.
Time passes.
She silently returns with water.
Time passes.
The bartender brings us our food, she addresses us as fellow human beings for the first time. So much time has passed that we've both forgotten what we've ordered. A plate of corn tortillas topped with various meats from a dull grey color palate is presented to my girlfriend as what she ordered. The bartender thoroughly explains the type of grey meat on top of each taco, one of which is actually potato. I'm presented with a quesadilla. Half of it is visibly and shamelessly burnt.
We ponder our meals. She is only angrily able to stomach half of the tacos. The various grey meats are dry and tasteless. The quesadilla is still burnt. I reluctantly eat all of it.
We leave.
We go...
Read moreI would give 5 stars for the food quality but the customer service was so unbelievably awful. My friend and I had to wait 10 minutes just to get a menu, while we witnessed a multitude of servers roaming around us looking dazed and confused. After we finally got menus, the server seemed very impatient to move on and we had to literally call her back as she was stepping away before we had finished relaying our order. The wait for the drinks and food was way too long. There were barely any customers and actually seemed overstaffed. We were in shock when we received the much anticipated margaritas. For $15-16 a pop, you get a 12 ounce "margarita" in a regular drink glass, not the festive giant goblet you expect and imagine while waiting. Also worth noting, they don't do blended so if that's how you like them, this is not the place to go. The drink was tasty, so at least it was enjoyable, albeit half sized, margarita. But waaaayyyy overpriced for what you get. All in all, the food was good so I would recommend ordering it to go, and skip the slow customer service and overpriced,...
Read moreWe stopped here before an event in the area for dinner. We didn't realize it was walk up & order or that it was so casual. It wasn't a negative aspect, just unexpected. We sat outside on their picnic style seating, thankfully they have umbrellas which helped from being in the direct sun. I ordered the pork shoulder braised in pumpkin seed mole, served with warm tortillas & taco fixings (shredded cabbage, pickled onions, a jalapeno, cilantro and a lime wedge). It was a big portion and ended up bringing 1/2 home. It was very tasty and loved the pumpkin mole. My husband ordered the Bistec, which was a grilled steak in a creamy mushroom so frio, charred scallions and chili butter. It was also served with warm tortillas & taco fixings. He loved it. He also had a classic margarita which he really enjoyed. Fresh and clean ingredients. We decided we would come back to try the tacos if we are in the area after 4pm (they open at 4pm- and it was a heavier meal than I normally eat at that time, which is just a personal preference). It was a wonderful experience. The staff were all...
