OK so against my better judgement I returned to Baglesmith. Now my last review the owner said that it wasn’t his store I was mistaken. So let’s start by saying this is the combination pizza/ice cream/sandwich/bagel shop off 46 on 519 catty corner to Quick Check, and across from a school. That being said, I got the Italian Hogie and the lovely Mz D got a BLT. First of all who has seen invisible tomatoes, ok I’m exaggerating they weren’t invisible but they sure were see thru. I’d had writing paper thicker, this on both sandwiches. First Mz D wasn’t aware you need to specify toasted bread, (on a BLT? Really?) And speaking of invisible the bacon came in a close second to the tomato. Mz D who used to frequent this shop was very, very, very disappointed. Did I mention she was very disappointed. My Hoagie which I said load it up but no hot peppers. (Also found out I was charged an addition .50 for provolone (on an Italian hoagie really?) Any way huge roll which was probably the best part of this sandwich, and a ton of shredded lettuce, three paper thin tomatoes, and to paraphrase the old Wendy commercial “Where’s the CHEESE”? Mz D did buy a pint of coleslaw which was good (probably not house made) and thank God she did cause I used it to add some flavor to my Hoagie. Look, the kids behind the counter were nice enough but I think a little adult supervision might have been called for. Then again they were probably only following the owners directions, dotting the i’s and crossing their T’s. So while I was expecting a Hoagie that would be better than the Quick Check (who incidentally make a great spicy Italian Sub, maybe that’s the difference QC makes subs and zone Bagel makes “Hoagies”). Now since it’s a small business and (foolish me) believing they are trying to keep customers happy, I was also, like the lovely Mz D, very very disappointed. Maybe not very very very disappointed but disappointed none the less. Sorry Mr (or Mrs) Baglesmith you get a double thumbs down ( no make that 5 thumbs down) with my advice; if you’re not stopping in for just coffee or bagels pass this place by. 👎👎👎👎👎 BTW for making crappy sandwiches how come the pizza looks so good? Oh yeah the Spanish guys run that part and they want to...
Read moreOn my way back to the DC area from a visit to my home state of NJ, I knew I couldn't go wrong by choosing a random bagel place that was on my route, but I had no idea how right I was when I happened upon the Bagelsmith. It's the whole magilla and everything I miss about Jersey bagels and where to get 'em. The aroma that hits walking in. The unique NJ friendliness that's both quick and sincere. The bagels are soft but crispy, with crusty bubbles on the outside and fluffy bubbles on the inside. The Taylor Egg & Cheese was everything I could have wanted and I can't wait to dig into my macaroni salad at lunch today. Can I give you...
