Surprised. With a resort of this level the Harvest Tavern failed to impress. Wait: was way longer than needed to be. That includes soups/salads/drinks and even bread. Some people at other tables got up and left. Saw servers delivering food to abandoned tables. Food: - Clam chowder - ok, could be hotter. - Steamed asparagus - great. - Burger - generic, not worth the price. - Caesar Salad - portion size good. NOT “baby romaine lettuce” as it says in menu. Large uneatable stems instead. Too much dressing. - Sirloin - ordered well done. Came in not well done. Sent back to kitchen - came back not well done again. Penne Pasta - good. Staff: not proactive, barely attentive. Spoons missing, silverware missing, plates not removed, water not refilled. And they had time to do it. Kitchen can improve, waitresses can improve.

After driving for 3 1/2 hrs all I wanted was a good drink and a warm meal. After waiting and waiting and waiting to be served my Martini was room temperature from waiting and sadly my food was probably colder than my drink. I'm staying at the hotel. I'll look for other dining options tomorrow and the new year. Piano bar is nice. Bartenders not very attentive. 12/30/2022 at 730 pm

Great locally sourced food and drinks with super service (Collette is a gem). So far, the Tavern Burger made from local beef and the shrimp and grits are my favorite dishes. As for cocktails, my new favorite is their Tiramisu Martini with the Strawberry Screwdriver a close second. And it's a bonus that the dining room looks out on the Presidential Range.

We were incredibly disappointed with their inability to accommodate food allergies. We spoke to the hotel team before booking to confirm they could offer gluten free food options for our 9 year old. When we arrived, we spoke to the restaurant manager to confirm GF options and made a reservation. When we returned for dinner, we were told there was no table available. When I reminded them that I had stopped by earlier and they told me they would have a table ready, they agreed to seat us but said it would take 40 minutes to get our meals. We could order apps. We placed our order. My daughter ordered the GF Mac and cheese that they had earlier offered us. After orders were placed, the manager returned to tell us that they were too busy for the chef to take cross contamination precautions - and they cannot make the GF mac and cheese. We ended up leaving with hungry kids and had to trouble shoot to find a safe dining option in town. Breakfast was included in our stay. We spoke to them in advance of breakfast and were again reassured they could make eggs and GF toast separately for our daughter to avoid risk of cross contamination from the buffet. When we arrived at breakfast, the server told us this was not an option. We had to escalate it - and the same manager from dinner returned with excuses. After a lot of stress, they made the eggs, home fries and gave toast. I wish they had just been honest that they are unable and unwilling to accommodate food allergies - rather than giving us false assurances and spoiling our stay with the stress of finding safe food for our daughter. There is a reason we call in advance and speak with management to prevent these issues. Their food and beverage manager was completely...

Just an awful experience at a beautiful hotel. Took 10 minutes to get greeted at 6:15 in a very non busy environment. Ordered drinks immediately upon being greeted. Once server returned with drinks, we ordered our dinner with garlic fries as an app. FORTY FIVE MINUTES after first sitting , and a half hour after ordering, we finally received our appetizer that takes 5 minutes to prepare. Dinners came out roughly 20 minutes after the fries, so we're not over an hour in, with drinks empty and no server in sight. Dinners were bland and tasteless. Burger was dry as a puck and duck confit was as if it were cooked on 300 in the oven as the skin was rubbery.

The final salt in the wound is that the 2 top sitting next to us had their entire meal comped for "slow delivery", meanwhile they sat after us and received their meals well ahead of us! We were offered zero remedy. If there were a manager to complain to I would have, but that option was nowhere to be found. This is a beautiful resort and should be SOOO much better a dining experience for their guests. This was a really rough first experience and likely a reason to not return for another stay at the...

We stayed for three nights at this superb resort, but most of our dining was from the Harvest kitchen in-room rather than in the dining room itself. Whatever we ordered, from turkey clubs to steak frites, we found everything to be first-rate. On the third night we dined in the restaurant proper. I had the Peri Peri half chicken (sizable) with mint jasmine rice, pickled veggies with a citrus yoghurt sauce. My partner had the shrimp scampi with giant trattole, in a garlic herb Chablis sauce. For a side we delighted in pan roasted Brussels sprouts magically prepared with maple butter and curried walnuts. We counted this as one of the most memorable meals in recent times. The chicken was roasted to a crispy paprika perfection and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The scampi with trattole was an unusual treat and simply scrumptious. For dessert we had a deep chocolate mousse coated with a chocolate glaze with a shortbread “moose” as a comic touch. Superb dining here really. Those diners who had unfortunate experiences couldn’t have been where we ate. Our server was bright, proactive, cheerful, and attentive. ...
