It's not bad, just wasn't good. Start with hot sauce. It was very good. Hard to get chips or refills because there were only 2 wait staff and they seemed very relaxed. The guy we had didn't seem to have even a basic grip on his job. Moving on we ordered queso. It is very thin which will help it to last, and to me it was essentially tasteless which helped it to last through the dinner and be half full still when we left... we were a party of 11. The margaritas were good, though like our other drinks, hard to come by. I ordered the chili relleno which did have the traditional egg batter. Not much filling (cheese) and was soggy. Yes I'm a chili connoisseur and my expectations are probably too high. This isn't new Mexico, but I would not order it again. My wife had tacos Al carbon and she said "they are ok" though she didn't finish them or take them home. She did say the guacamole was good. The general consensus at the table was fajita beef dishes were good. We took our family dinner night here for a change of pace and the high Google rating. If you're like me you will probably leave disappointed and not return, you may like it though. Give it a try, but don't go in...
Read moreBest Mexican in the area. I live near Bonham and that says something! I would drive back to Whitewright to have this again with my family. Chips and Salsa were excellent, though the salsa could stand to be a little hotter (just my opinion, my wife loved it mild). Our service was spot on. We got to talk with the owner, Eric, and he was very nice. He said he'd been in the business for 40 years, and it shows. They were able to accommodate my wife's food allergies and alter the menu item she wanted to get. All of our food was served on HOT plates which means a great deal to me as I completely dislike restaurants that serve a hot meal on a cold plate. All the flavors of my meal melded nicely together. My only pet peeve was the beans I got were a little runnier than I would have liked. I like my beans to stand on their own, and not find them all over my plate because they migrated there. I told Eric we can't wait for them to open an...
