Let me first say, I understand this establishment just opened, so naturally there are some kinks and things to work out BUT... I ate there, along with my husband and his father, on Fri. Nov. 13th. We were not helped once seated (we seated ourselves finally) for a good 15 min., and then we were brought coffee eventually. No silverware, no glasses of water, no napkins, no creamer for the coffee. We asked numerous times for those things, no one brought it, so finally my husband got up and got most of it himself and brought it to our table. I got our silverware from a table next to us. Once we ordered, we never were brought out the cups of soup that came with our meals. Nor were we served the dinner rolls also included in our meal. When the meals came out, none had coleslaw (supposed to be part of the fish and shrimp meals), my father in law got no sour cream for his baked potato, and the kicker... NO cocktail sauce for our shrimp, they stated they were out. Had I known they were out I would've never ordered the shrimp in the first place! Service was horribly slow, although it was VERY busy so I understand that part, but it was inexcusably forgetful. I mean, we didn't even get half the food we ordered, even after we asked numerous times. All our waitress did was complain the entire time about how short staffed they were, and how she hadn't gotten a break, and even told us she was "miserable" - she made in very clear she did NOT want to be at work that day and it was very uncomfortable for us. Please just serve us our food politely as time permits, and promptly try to fix all the errors made, that is what we would expect. But none of that happened. And the food itself was nothing to brag about, shrimp were like those you buy frozen in a Roundy's box at Copps, my husband's father said the fish was so overdone he could barely chew it. Can't judge the rolls because we never got them, same with the coleslaw, We did finally get our soup AFTER our meal??? and it was not very good, my husband's father refused to eat his chili and he'll eat most anything. We really assumed there would be a huge adjustment made to our bill due to all the mistakes, not getting half of the food we ordered, the lack of service... but nope, we weren't even offered any discount at all! Overall very disappointed in our first experience dining at R.D.'s Diner! I certainly hope they read this and use this to help improve and make others dining experiences better than ours was. They also need to work on keeping their customers happy, perhaps if we;d been offered a discount, or maybe gotten our complete meals, we could have forgiven the mistakes, below average food, and bad service. Worst $45 I've ever spent on a...
Read moreI've become somewhat of a regular for Friday morning breakfast here at RD's. The theory behind it is, life is short, treat yourself once in a while to great food and awesome company. Speaking of outstanding company, the service is wonderful. I've had the pleasure of being served by Sam, Bella, Grace, Kaylea, & Bailey, and they're all terrific. My coffee is always topped off and hot, the food is always fresh and served promptly. As a local small business owner myself, I value how a local family business treats me, just as I would them. Thank you to all of the staff for treating me wonderfully every time. It's a real treat to have the opportunity...
