Kim's Noodles Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Wichita

Called in ahead of time around 10:30am to make an order for dine in (Hi Tieu - seafood clear noodle soup), the person on the phone didn't understand what I was trying to say because she doesn't speak English. Got to the restaurant , told the guy that I called ahead for the order, he then acted like he doesn't have a clue and came back and said they only take order for pickup and not for dine in, waited half an hour, by 11:30 the order was brought out but they gave me the wrong order, it was hu Tieu seafood clear noodle plus egg noodle soup, told the guy it was the wrong order, I just wanted clear noodle not mix with egg noodle, by this time I had about 15-20 minutes to eat and still waiting for them to fix the order. By the time they finally brought out the corrected order, it was time for me to leave. I ended up cancelling the order, didn't get a chance to eat lunch, 1 hour wasted on an empty stomach. My coworker ordered non soup dish and she barely had time to eat it and ended up having to take it to go and they were not even that busy to begin with. This situation happened to me before having the wrong order with the same order ( Hu Tieu- seafood clear noodle soup) they gave me rice noodle seafood noodle instead of clear noodle soup and I ended up having to rush trying to eat the corrected hot noodle soup then having to rush back to work within the 1 hour time frame. I'm not going back to this place. Asian Bistro was so much better with service and can understand what I wanted, been there plenty of times for my 1 hour lunch and was very satisfied with...

MIDDLING 6/10 8/10 if you only rate the broth.

I would like this pho very much if you only used the soup spoon to sip the whole bowl away. The broth is very good. It scratches the deep need for singing clove and cardamom notes that can go unscratched other places. Very attendant staff.

The meat is SO cheap. Terrible hotdog juice meatballs. Worst meatballs, I actually left meatball in the bowl uneaten but drank the broth. Very odd bowl of pho. Excellent broth, terrible proteins, overcooked mushy noodles if you go late in the day. Great amount of cilantro and, once again, the bizarre use of red onions instead of white that you see in the midwest only.

Though, to be fair, the broth is INCREDIBLY greasy broth. But, it has a strong profile, heavy in cinnamon. Very good. Just terrible meat and the worst kind of "meatballs". The grease is from the cheap meat. If they raised the meat quality and did the full meatball preparation, they would have a serious pho product contender on their hands for the city of wichita. So close, yet so far.

The spring rolls are negligible due to the peanutbutter and jelly flavored peanut sauce. But the spring rolls themselves had very delicious pork, but unfortunately, were delivered to the table half-frozen on one side, probably where they laid against the prep tray in a cooler. Not good. Rip them open and take the excellent pork out.

I would consider coming back again. Probably on a late tuesday and they have Bun, so I could...

Food is Phenomenal, however Service Needs some serious Help!

We visited Kim's Noodles Last night around 7:45pm - After waiting about 10-15mins after getting Seated (Party of 3), we Flagged our Server down to let him know we were Ready to place our Order... Instantly he rudely Responded "I'm Busy...I can't Take your Order!" and then Walked off...

We were obviously quite Shocked at that Response but decided to Wait for him to Walk by again... We Flagged him down again to Ask - When he could Take our order? He again rudely Replied "We only have 2 Servers, I do Not know When I can Take your Order!" and then Walked off... he then Stood about 10ft from our Table and Got on his Phone and stayed on it for several Minutes.

After that, we just Decided to Leave and so Did the Table (Party of 4) Close to ours, who had come in about 2-3mins after us. It was obvious that this Server did Not care and was apparently too Busy to Accommodate us.

It really is quite Disappointing to be Dismissed and Treated that way...

We will be Looking for another Pho place that actually Appreciates our Business and has done a Better job at Training their Employees.
