I live near this park so I have a few observations to make. There are no sidewalks leading to the park so you must walk in the street. There should be a sidewalk from the dog park entrance to the side walk instead there is just a muddy path. The dog park fence is very, very cheap and poorly built. In some places it looks like dog owners have patched large gaps with chicken wire. The fence is secured to the posts with a wimpy twist of wire and not even chain link!! So as an owner what is the number 1 concern when taking my dog off leash? The security.
I would like to see the bathrooms taken care of and a trash can by the playground. The playground also has zero shade so the equipment gets hot.
Lastly, for a playground that is quite close to a pond I am surprised there isn’t a security fence around the play area. Lots of moms have young children and babies. If one child manages to get away - moms of runners know what I mean - the mother must chase their child with baby in arms or leave baby behind?
Just this week they replaced sidewalks that had tiny cracks I mean insignificant cracks instead of possibly addressing some of these issues. I’m a little...
Read moreMy review is for the small dog side of the park. I love having a park so close. This is a large park. Even the small dog side is big. There's a fun little agility course for the little ones to play on. There needs to be some attention paid to the muddiness, some of which is visible in my photos. Most significant are the gaps in the gating. These are much too large to secure small dogs. While there I witnessed a small yorkie wiggle her way easily through this gap while we stood outside observing the gaps. This is something that should be taken care of post haste. As always, keep an eye on your dogs at all times while off leash and in public. Treat them as children if you value them as children. Strangers can walk off with dogs, have fast access to a vehicle and be gone quickly. This is true...
Read moreWe’re loving the dog park!! Only downfall is the pond run off that flows through. Our dog gets in it every time, requiring a bath when we get home. They do have a shower on each side, (small and large) to spray them off. . My main concern with it though is the dogs drinking from it. I’ve heard a lot about blue algae this summer killing dogs so I’m more worried about the health stuff than having to give a bath. Also it hasn’t been mowed in quite a while so my little dog can’t see over the grass and when it’s wet, our dog gets extra dirty. But don’t let this keep you away...our dog Loves it and we do too!! Great walking path, pond to fish and wildlife all around!! 9-27-19 Just wanted to update my review as it seems they have fixed the water issue. We’re super excited!! We come at least 2...
