My first visit I was sent by my client to order her a dozen of tamales it was a nasty experience.. The two toned color hair lady that was running the cash register.. Was blowing her nose when I walked in she came straight to the register.. I asked her to wash her hands she said she will after she rings me up.. I said no I want you to wash them now of course she got a attitude with me.. I had a few choice words for her I told her that was nasty & asked for manager of course the manager was not available. The cashier engaged in the dispute about her having a attitude about washing her hands by saying do you want the tamales or not. I said I sure don't but I'm not here for me I'm ordering for my client.. FYI I was watching the ladies in kitchen they were not using gloves while preparing food.. Place is a hole in the wall type of atmosphere. Feels like only the locals come here. Second time here and service has been good both times. You have a seat and the servers will make their way to you. I feel like it’s a place you can’t be in any hurry if you’re dining in. Meat was good in gorditas, burrito, and tacos. You cannot go wrong with any tacos you select. Menudo is really good. One of the best in town. The gorditas are made there so they have that fresh taste. No fountain drinks but plenty of options of all drinks. Parking can get tight if they are busy. Off Broadway so easy access to the place. Give them a try! My son loved the menudo. I ordered barbacoa tacos, and my fiance had a burrito. There was no green pork option, but he was good with pork and added his own green sauce. The tacos were overcooked meat as well.
