This place is supposed to be a bakery to take care of your wedding needs. To be there for your special day. They can't even make cupcakes correctly. First off we ordered two dozen cupcakes for a small graduation party. A dozen with vanilla frosting and strawberry filled. The other half were supposed to have chocolate frosting with chocolate filling. All of them were frosted with vanilla so we had to wait for them to fix that. No discount, apologies, or anything offered for having to wait the extra time for them to fix their mistake. That's fine though as mistakes happen and we were running early for the party anyway. We get the fixed cupcakes and make our way to the graduation party. The vanilla and strawberry filled ones were for the guest of honor as they are a huge fan of strawberry shortcake. I asked him how he enjoyed the filling? I hope he liked it as I know how much he likes strawberry shortcake! "What filling?" There was no filling in any of the cupcakes, no strawberry in the vanilla cupcakes and none in the chocolate cupcakes. What a HUGE disappointment! We call to inform them of the second mistake. They refuse to give a refund. I am sitting here with a product I did not purchase that I want to return and they won't let it happen so I start to freak out. Finally they decide they will return my money but won't do it on the card they have on file. I had to leave in the middle of the party, where the failed cupcakes were with a disappointed group to get my money back after having to fight tooth and nail for it. They didn't even return the full amount!!! They told me they couldn't refund the card because they can't put more than what was placed on it. I paid $10 deposit and $23 today. They gave me back $15 cash!!!! So I still paid $18 for cupcakes that nobody even wants and had to go through terrible customer service to get! This was a horrible enough experience. DO NOT trust these people with your wedding! I can't imagine the stress and horrors that await an unlucky bride who has to deal with this uncaring bakery. Their are tons of other bakers who actually care about their customers in Wichita. Don't waste your time here.
~ To the generic reply. The refund process isn't confusing at all for companies who care about their customers and treat their business with integrity. I ordered a product that I did not receive, therefore I should be refunded the full amount or I should receive the product I paid for. I received neither of those things. I paid $18 for something I never ordered because your customer service is horrendous. The only thing that you "strove for" was...
Read moreSuper disappointing experience and will NEVER use WOW cakes again. If I would've known the all the trouble I would go through for the things I ordered beforehand, I would've gone somewhere else.
WHERE TO START.....our tasting was a disorganized mess. There was too much going on for the 2 people that were working. They were running back and forth between our tasting and other people coming in to place orders, and answering the phone. We had to keep repeating what we had just talked about with one person to the other person when they would switch. Discussing the final bill was also a huge mess. Ended up ordering a 3 tier cake, groom's cake, and 6 dzn cookies. She zipped through the explanation so fast I couldn't keep up. Wedding week comes up and I get a final verification call about my delivery time which was 4-4:30. My ceremony started at 5 and was out in Viola. So a bit of a drive form the bakery. I asked if the time could be moved up more in the case that something was wrong with the cake and had to be taken back and fixed. I got attitude from the girl I was talking to and was told "I'll talk to the manager and call you back." then hung up immediately. I didn't get a call back until almost closing time that they could move the time up 30 minutes. Fine, that was better than nothing. Come wedding day, 3:30 comes and goes...4....4:30. No cake. No phone call, nothing. My mom decides to call the owner, no answer. We got a voicemail saying there was an accident outside of the bakery that was delaying them. THAT WOULD'VE BEEN NICE TO KNOW!? My cake finally arrived 5 minutes before I have to walk down the aisle. Owner didn't apologize for being late or anything, just set up the cake and dipped. Was standoffish to my MOH who went and looked at it. Come cake cutting ceremony, 3 tier cake was fine, but the groom's cake was a f**king joke! Nothing close to what I asked for. There were pieces that I couldn't even tell what they were, things that were specifically asked for that were not there. It looked unfinished. If something was too hard to do, or out of their scope of decorating, SAY SO. Don't mislead people telling them it's no problem then show up with whatever you could manage. don't let the display cakes fool you!!! **attached are what I asked for & examples vs what I...
Read moreOkay, i hate making bad reviews... I honestly do. But I felt like people should know my experience here. I have sat on it for a long time and feel like I should finally tell people.
I ordered my wedding cake here. I wanted very simple decorations. Just white icing and edible glitter so i could put the deco on myself. They were supposed to deliver 3 hours early so i had time to do so before my wedding. Well, on the day of my wedding i am putting on my dress and i receive a text from WOW cakes. They are confirming the date of my wedding for the NEXT day. My wedding was starting in 20 minutes and I didn't have a cake! ...luckily they made it out pretty fast but because it was so late i had a plain, non decorated cake. They also had NO edible glitter on it. My friend who was cutting the cake said it felt frozen in places, too.
I called after my wedding and honeymoon and they refunded half of the delivery fee and the cost of the glitter.... I think it was like $75? (I think my cake and cookies together costed around $450) And they gave me a half off coupon of my next purchase. (Needless to say, i never used it)
Well, a year later i call them to book my 1-year anniversary cake. (This place offers a replica of the top tier of your wedding cake at your one year anniversary). So, before we left for our vacation we took for our one year anniversary, i called them and asked for a cherry flavored cake and vanilla icing. No decorations or glitter. We pick it up the morning of our trip, drive all the way to Oklahoma City, where we went on vacation. Open up the box of cake and it was chocolate. Not cherry, not cherry chocolate. Chocolate.
The cake both times were good. They had good flavor and texture. But.... You can take my review how you wish. All of my friends have great experiences with them.. but me.... Needless to say, i won't be...
