Springplace Takeout — Restaurant in Wildwood Lake

Absolutely horrible service. Horrible. Would not recommend to anyone. I came for lunch 3/22/25 and there was only 2 staff working and there was about 5 people in line in front of me. Both cashier and cook continued to say "I'm sorry, there's only 2 of us". Cashier had horrible attitude toward customers. Awful. I observed the cashier mess up several customer orders, forgetting about drive through customers and their orders, giving orders to wrong customers, and even not writing down some orders after the customer had paid and had been waiting for their food. I observed this all while i waited in line to try to place my order. Cashier even attempted to lock the front door of the building to keep new customers from coming in. Cashier was giving meals to wrong people, and losing orders or not writing them down at all. I waited in line for over 30 mins just to try to place an order. Cashier contined to have a bad attitude saying "there's only 2 of us here". After waiting for 30 mins just to place an order, the cashier asked me what I ordered. I explained, I hadn't ordered yet and that I was standing in line to try to place an order like everyone else had done. The cashier told me she didn't have time to take my order, told me there's only 2 of them here working and she didn't have time for me and walked off into the kitchen. This is absolutely horrible service and disappointing that staff are allowed to conduct business this way and treat customers. If this is any representation of how this business is run, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I am a local. Upon my first visit, I was not impressed with Springplace Takeout and will probably not be returning. I ordered a cheese burger meal online through DoorDash for a quick lunch and it was underwhelming to say the least. My cheese burger was made incorrectly only having very little mustard and ketchup on it when I ordered it all the way minus lettuce and mayo.

Secondly my meal was nowhere near worth the price even if my burger was made correctly. The patty was bland and tasted like a store bought, frozen burger patty. The meat somehow tasted overcooked while also having zero char on the patty almost like it was boiled. My side of onion rings were good, but again for a meal that cost over $15 I would expect there to be an optional side of ranch or some sort of dipping sauce. I cant speak for the rest of their menu, but my hopes aren't high when they advertise their burgers as a staple for the restaurant and also claiming the "best burger in town". There is just no reason to get a burger here when you can go to a Wendy's or McDonalds and get a much tastier burger meal for a lot less money. Or better yet go to the store and buy your own frozen patties, that would also be a lot cheaper.

To give them some credit, I was told that they only recently started using Doordash for online ordering and it is quite confusing when customizing your burger, but they need to fix it. Also the atmosphere was nice and the restaurant...

Went to burger house for probably the 1000 th time always great food and value but this time the absolute worst in every way. Ordered burger special for husband fish sandwich combo for me. As usual I said tarter sauce only on fish. When food was ready we went to window the girl said they didn’t have tartar sauce so they put mayonnaise in bag. Big difference in the 2 so I told her I didn’t want it she said sorry. The woman behind her said we don’t serve it like that anymore. So I ask her why she didn’t tell me that when I said tartar sauce only. Their reply was sorry. Well I’m sorry too that’s a lousy way to run a business. You just lost a long term customer. It has been a forvorite of ours since it was just a trailer. The only thing I’m sorry for is the young girl that took my order and money was at least kind enough to ask older women if they could make it and that lady told her no they were not allowed to do that. My husband had already paid so were just out. I ate a few fries my husband ate half his hamburger and few fries....
