Cavallo's is an extraordinay and exquisite fine dining restaurant. It is simply a Gem.
Reservations are a must. At the time you call to make your reservation you will be asked if you have food allergies, if there are foods you dislike, and the cost to dine is made at this time. Should you want to request something particular for Mrs Cavallo to cook, please mention it at this time. Note: the cost includes your dining experience, tax and gratuity. BYOB.
We celebrated our anniversary here in 2012. We were greeted at the entrance and taken to our beautifully dressed table with linens, candleabra, and fresh roses. In the background you hear beautiful Italian music playing The elegance of Cavallo's is that of ecleptic Italian, beautifully designed. Once seated, we were welcomed and our wine glasses were filled. Shortly after, Mrs. Cavallo greeted us and explained briefly the courses and welcomed us to walk the premises between courses. After our first course we were given a tour which included some history of the collections strategically placed throughout, and how Cavallo has evolved over 37 years.
Our dinner was a six course meal. For starters we enjoyed a deliciously lite french onion soup with warm breads. Followed by homemade pasta ravioli topped with garden tomato sauce and fresh basil. Next was poached lobster tail and claw with fresh arrugula. Fourth course consisted of roasted vegetables: beets, broccoli rabe, and a beautiful tower of eggplant, tomato, fontina cheese, squash, zucchini, red peppers drizzled with a balsamic fig reduction. Our entrees were poached chilean sea bass and filet mignon, both served with roasted carrot and asparagus. Dessert included choice of cappaccino or espresso and layered pound cake with whipped cream, strawberry compote and lemon curd.
The dishes are all beautifully arranged, the food is seasoned to perfection, this is absolutely every bit of a 5 star dining experience and more..
We had good conversation with both Mrs Cavallo and her son Brando. They are both very personable people and want to give their guests the best experience. She has cooked for and dined with several famous people and dignitaries. They have dedicated customers who frequent Cavallo's from locally to New York. They also offer bed and breakfast...

If this a splurge for you like it was for us, the tour is fun and funny, but left me with a lot of little quips from the now deceased matriarch in which I was thinking āThings Rich People say for $200, Alex.ā Nevertheless, the tour was intriguing and entertaining and there is no doubt this family comes from a long stock of wonderful and good human beings.
This is NOT just a nice dinner out. This is NOT a quick getaway. Be prepared to spend most of your evening there, which is incredibly relaxing. Thatās because this is not just a high quality meal, but an incredible experience.
Downsides: thereās not a lot of control over what youāre eating. You choose one of three or four entrees. The rest is already decided, so picky eaters may need to investigate more thoroughly before making a reservation.
They say they are kid friendly and by all accounts they are incredible with kids, but I would caution against it. This is a long experience for a kid. If you have no other recourse, be sure to pack distractions as though you are going for a very long car ride. I have ZERO doubt that the staff does very well engaging children, but itās a lot for a kid.
Recommendations for the staff: The ambiance is a little marred when Alexa decides to be difficult. I would personally recommend looking into SONOS speakers or a traditional wired audio system if possible. Relying on WiFi can lead to sound issues like we had last night, but you are dealing with a very large space and a system for that could be well into the thousands, and possibly low teens, of dollars. So depending on how often that happens, it may or may not actually be worth it.
I didnāt take pics of my food and my wife doesnāt like sharing her photos, so hereās a lovely photo of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe best of the best! As the saying goes, great aināt cheap and cheap aināt great. Weāll maybe not quite like that, but you get the drift. This truly one of a kind restaurant is on an island all itās own. La Locanda Del Cavallo is a family favorite and if you could rate a restaurant from 0 to 100, this place would receive 2000. Yes folks it really is just that fantastic! Every detail is an exemplary representation of perfection at the highest level. The food is just outstanding and service is bar none. Weāve eaten at some of the best restaurants in America and this one is by far our favorite! Tucked away on a country road south of Easton, Pennsylvania with gorgeous views of the Delaware River and Valley. This place is worth the trip. If you have the pleasure of visiting them on a Sunday for dinner, make sure for two things. Donāt eat for a week prior to your feast from the Gastro Gods and set aside some extra cash and for good reason. The food is just exquisite and absolutely delicious! Every bite brings you back to those memories of your grandmotherās cooking, yes it really is that good. (who didnāt love when grandma made us food)? Some of the worldās greatest chefās have been trying to replicate some of their dishes for decades, but thereās only one Cavalloās that I know of. If you ever get the urge to have one of the most impressive and delicious recipes of your life, then I suggest you visit this gorgeous open kitchen establishment! Iād give it 6 stars if I...
