First time I had real authentic Mexican food in about 10-15 years. I stopped here because I had an hour of time to myself and was hungry. I passed by my regular two eateries and decided to give El Sabor a try. I would not have imagined a better place to have dinner. I had a bad experience about 10 years ago at another Mexican restaurant and decided to stop eating this type of food altogether. My decision to stop and try El Sabor was well worth it. I certainly was very pleased with my selection of food and service. Funny(I'm laughing at this) I ordered my food and my thought process as to how my plate should look was very different when the food came out. I was overly delighted to see the huge plate of food and all the fixens😊. I didn't know where to start on the plate. I had the soft shell something I unrolled from the warm aluminum foil package and begin stuffing the food inside and begin to roll it up. The waitress came over and we laughed at the same time. I had know clue what I was doing and she realized I had no clue what I was doing. It was funny, it was a Kodak video moment. She said it was fine the way I was preparing my meal however she schooled me on the way she would eat it. She quickly explained my way was not incorrect but.... I laughed so good on the inside, I needed that. The restaurant was great and the service was awesome. I do not know the waitresses name but she amplified the words "great customer service". Not sure when I will eat there again but now I know that 1 bad experience I had 10 plus years ago would have place this place in my heart 4 days ago. El Sabor gets a 5 rating from me the food was great, while working in a customer service industry I certainly appreciate the friendliness of my waitress. I had a great time...
Read moreI'm so sorry to leave a bad review... but this food was absolutely horrible. I had eaten here a few months ago and had the fajitas... very hard to mess up! Unfortunately they were not just, so-so...they were BAD. The meat (chicken) was dry and flavorless. I really feel it was straight chicken with no seasonings. The peppers and onions were no better, slimy and tasteless... So sorry but true. Against my better judgment we were talked into going again this past weekend. I chose the Carnitas, how bad could it be? Oh man, the meat was fried- burnt and dry. The beans are horrible, rice... I mean, come on, the box stuff at Food Lion is way better. And the queso/cheese dip was literally watery and just gross. I could describe 20 other negative things about each person's meal, but I think you get the idea. I didn't want to say all of these things because truly, times are tough and our service was wonderful... but please do some quality control on your food. I won't talk about them around town or anything because like I said, times are tough and I honestly wish them success.💚 Maybe they'll...
Read moreI don't want to freely give away 5 stars here, so I'm going to give El Sabor a 4 Star Rating. Really cool atmosphere, smallish restaurant. Service was FANTASTIC. Chips were good, Salsa was very good, the white sauce was underwhelming, and for some reason they gave us very little white sauce, to be fair we went in an hour before closing so they may have been running low. But they would give us like teaspoons of the white sauce lol.
My son and I ordered the Steak Ranchero (see picture), my daughter got chicken nuggets lol, and my wife got the Fajita Burrito. My meal was good, but I wouldn't get it again. The Beans were the best beans I've ever eaten. Seriously, they were SO GOOD. My wife said her meal was THE BEST Mexican dish she's ever had.
The Prices were FANTASTIC........really really affordable dishes.
So overall it was a 4 star experience. I just couldn't give them the 5 stars because my dish wasn't that great. So I definitely want to go again, and order something different.
But I do recommend El Sabor to anyone in that area of...
