Village Green Ice Cream — Restaurant in Williamsburg

I’m sad to say that I can’t recommend this place. I’ve been several times and each time, the service and staff are horrendous. Living right down the road, I love supporting local businesses… this place though, it routinely disappoints. Every time I’ve been, I’ve had a bad experience. Once, I tried to get a quart of vanilla and chocolate ice cream but the staff refused to combine flavors. I offered to pay extra but my request was still denied without explanation. Another time, I purchased 3 quarts and a cup of ice cream to go. The ice cream to go came in a bowl, so I asked for an additional bowl to cover it with; the staff refused and told me the to-go container was a separate item. I then asked for a to-go container, which I had originally requested, and was told that once the ice cream was through the window, it could not be modified. I then explained that I could pay extra for a to-go container that I requested from the get-go and stated that I would be more than happy to put the ice cream in the container myself and apologized for the confusion. The staff scoffed and eventually obliged after another customer intervened. Such an unpleasant experience. The ice cream is good but it’s not even worth it given the drama and rudeness the place serves! From the stares to downright combative service, I can't help but wonder if homophobia plays a role? Whatever the case may be, I've been sure to tell my family, friends and loved ones to go elsewhere...

Soft serve, hard ice cream, sundaes, and plants. It is the perfect stop if you’re looking for somewhere with your family to go on a hot summer day.

The business is been moved by the same family for years. The staff is friendly and they hire teenagers in the summer.

We love this little place! The staff are so nice. The ice cream is fantastic & the prices are very reasonable! They have a quaint little picnic area with a little gym for the kids. It is Definitely worth driving a little bit further to come here rather than spending 5 times as much in Northampton! Thank you...
