Alright...We have been looking forward to visiting Wave on Lake Conroe for a long time. It's a bit further from us than other spots on the water, so we always put it off until today. Maybe it was just a bad day/start, but we will never return. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. FOOD: Simply put, it was not good. Bland & just odd tasting. Wasn't inviting or worthwhile by any means, especially for the cost, and eating the food felt a little questionable for us. Things to mention from our order of Chips & Queso, Chicken Alfredo, Nachos, & Fried Fish Sandwich. Only thing worthwhile from these items in reality were chips and queso and the included fries with our meals, nothing great, but is what it is. Beef on Nachos tasted odd, Chicken Alfredo was bland as ever, and Fried Fish Sandwich was no good. For the Fish Sandwich, you assume your usual fish sandwich - but no, it's a catfish fillet (which is unspecified) & it was overcooked/overfried. We did not assume it was going to be catfish, as they had other fish on menu, so I told them and they did take it off the bill which was nice of them, and we did not eat it. SERVICE: Service was alright. Our waitress was nice, but on multiple occasions, we just forgot about things we asked. There were only two tables there, it just opened and was slow, we were first table of day. We asked for juice for our child, she never provided it. This is okay, water is better anyway. We had to ask for togo boxes more than once. Again, nice waitress, but for it being slow, we felt a little odd having to ask for things multiple times. ATMOSPHERE: It's nothing special, there is a pool, but without a busy crowd, it looks bare and dirty and less appealing. Did not feel inviting, and of course it is a small spot, but it just felt a little strange being in there. Upon arriving, it had a strong stench of cleaning chemicals but didn't look clean - either way, nice to know it's was cleaned to some extent. The table and chairs you're sitting at are outdoor furniture, so you'll be at an uncomfortable metal table (one you can't put your feet under) and metal chairs that do not allow you to be comfortable as well. Overall, the food/experience provided this place to be very underwhelming and not worth the PRICE or your time. Our Paid Order: Chips & Queso Kids Mac & Cheese Chicken Alfredo Nachos Double Shot of Malibu Margarita Price was over $80. Server was kind, it just was not worth the quality poor food.

The food here is AMAZING!!! It's obvious the kitchen manager cares not only about taste, but also presentation. Some days there are specials on the menu. The beef tips are awesome! They are very tender and flavorful, and they come over a bed of rice. There's an appetizer of loaded nachos that is HUGE!! It's chips, meat, cheese, and everything else one could need, served on a trash can lid, easily enough food to accommodate 8 people! Try the loaded bloody mary --- bacon, peppers, a pickle, celery, etc --- it's so good! They have icee machines that the kids will love, and the adults like spiking them as well. My personal favorite is the carrot soup (not always on the menu, it's a special) with the grilled cheese! But I think their most popular item is probably the boudin egg rolls. The bartenders are very friendly and attentive, in my experiences here, and the servers are nice as well. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when you're not seated at the bar, but in all fairness, it can get really busy here, and they are not only serving the tables. They have cabanas and patrons in the pool as well (at least during the warm months), and all are needing service.

The place is in complete disarray and in need of some serious maintenance, like 5+ yrs ago. Needs a complete overhaul at this point, cobwebs galore, paint pealing, rotted wood everywhere. Pool completely disgusting. The decks are hazardous with trip hazards all over. The pictures on Google are not truthful to the current condition. The food prices do not reflect the restaurant. We were expecting an upscale place, instead got a run down, over priced, dive bar for lonely locals. The food was just ok (advertised seafood boil but didn't have any, then why even have it on the chalk board anymore) , the service was in need of major work. They didn't even give my son a menu or silverware. I wouldn't go here again until I knew new owners took over and saw some major improvements.

We are staying in Conroe for a wedding and decided to find a nice restaurant on the water for dinner. Wave had pretty good reviews and we liked the look of the menu, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered chips with queso and guacamole and boudin eggrolls for appetizers. The queso seemed to be just be melted Velveeta cheese. Nothing special. The guacamole was much better. The boudin eggrolls and remoulade sauce were tasty. For our entrees, two of us ordered the surf and turf and the other three got the blackened ribeye. My steak, which I requested medium, was well done. My fiance and two friends also received over cooked steaks. The macaroni and cheese was okay, as was the sauteed spinach. The roasted brussel sprouts were not good-they were soggy and tasted like boiled cabbage. Over all, not worth what we paid.I spent $116 (half of this was a bar tab, so food total was roughly $60) with the tip and regretted spending that much for the quality of food. I did not tell anyone (waitress/. manager) about the issues we had with the food. The waitress we started with closed us out before our entrees came out because she had to tend to a party of 40. We were supposed to get a replacement, but instead we had a couple of people who got us things when we needed it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The issue we had was with the food. It was not good. The best part was going out to sit on the deck overlooking the lake. It was a nice atmosphere. We would go back to have beers on the the deck, but not...

First I never leave bad reviews, this time it feels necessary bc it's that awful. So so dirty, bad service, and for sure old freezer burnt reheating and probably microwaved food. I really WISH it was better we are close enough to drive our golf cart over there and has a great view but over the last couple years it's just gone down big time. I got a margarita, first the bartender didn't know how to make one, I told him lime, water and agave. It tasted really weird so I asked him what he put in it he said sweet in low so it'd be sweeter, it was not sweeter it's was gross. I will say the bartender was really sweet just not trained in anyway to be a bartender. I left 3 starts for service bc all the other times it was terrible. The waitresses could care less and prefer to flirt with the guys hanging out at the bar. Appetizer Platter was terrible old frozen food, reheated wings (several times reheated), friend and I ate maybe a bite of one or 2 things but decided we'd probably be sick the next day if we finished it. Everything was SO dirty, covered in dead flies, dirty tables, the pool is disgusting, I don't know how anyone goes in there much less let's their kids swim in it. Went to the bathroom, smelled it saw the stalls turned around walked right out. We paid and headed over to Guadalaharry's on 1097. I really really hope they do better or sell it and let someone else bring it back to a great place. There's just no love or care from the owners and it's quite...
