First things first if you’re hoping to give foster’s a try make you you head to the ATM first because they are a cash only establishment. I tried coming a few weeks ago with Apple Pay in hand and had to try again lol. The shop itself is very quaint. It’s only big enough to fit two customers or families at once. The offer a variety of flavors of ice cream along with slushies, malts and even pies. Their portion size is massive! I got two scoops thinking it would be a typical scoop and it had to be about the size of 3 scoops of each flavor. I couldn’t even finish it lol. I got the banana and salted caramel brownie and my daughter got Irish coffee and chocolate. Two flavors is considered a medium so it was $6.25 each. A little much but now seeing the serving size; I completely understand! There is seating outside the parlor to enjoy your treat. The young lady inside was very kind and helpful in letting me knowing what flavors to try. I’d definitely visit again!

Had to come here to say how much I love this charming little ice cream place! We have been coming here for years and was pleasantly surprised that it has s been lovingly restored and still has that cozy nostalgic feeling! It is one of the only places I can get my soft serveive cream, and my daughter can get her scoop of colorful hard ice cream, and my hubby likes the homemade cookie ice cream sandwiches! This place has been part of our summers for decades and I am happy to see it not only survived covid shut downs but seems it is now thriving!! We need to support these hidden gems!! Thank you Fosters for being part of our summer memories!

CASH ONLY!!! First time stopping in and despite the sign on the door, which we totally didn't see, we soon found ourselves in a minor panic; they only take cash. I ordered 2 scoops of Rocky Road which was huge! So much that I needed a cup to put it and my sugar cone in. Very generous portion for $6.50. When I tried to hand my debit card to them I was informed they only take cash. Thank goodness I had $10 stashed in my car. Other than the payment inconvenience, the ice cream was very good and again, a generous portion. Nice little homemade ice cream shop. Fun bonus, the white spoon turns blue when in the cold ice cream.

I went to Fosters Ice Cream on Chardon road for the first time since I was a kid on Tuesday and it was horrible. My kids and husband had already chosen what they wanted but I was still looking at the menu as I had been busy helping the kids pick out what they wanted. While I was looking at the menu a few of the like 5 girls behind the counter repeatedly asked me "and for you", "what would you like" and such. I told them a few times that I was still deciding but the still kept asking. I could understand if there was a line behind me but there was no one behind me and five girls that could easily wait on anyone that may have come in behind me. After being asked what I wanted for what seemed like the millionth time I just picked something. I am not sure why they were rushing me so much, apparently they had more important things to do at work rather than wait on the customers. They did not take cards so I had to use the fifty dollar bill that was my son's for his birthday so I paid with that as that was all I had. Be thoroughly annoyed I grabbed my change shoved it in the pocket of my wallet where I was saving his birthday money and when outside to join my family. A couple days later when I went to get the change out and give it to my son I noticed that the girl shorted me $10.00. Apparently she was in too big of a hurry to count. I normally do not complain as I have been in the customer service industry for years, but if I am going to pay $23.00 for 4 ice creams ($33 if you add what she shorted me) that tasted no better than anything you get from the store I would expect to get decent service and not be shorted money. So I called the manager to let him know about my experience. I did not expect him to give me the money that I was shorted as it is my word against theirs, although unless she pocketed it his drawer should have been over that night. I did at the very least expect an apology at the most an apology and a $10.00 credit the nest time I came in. Boy was I shocked when his response was " okay, that is all I can say", and that is all he said. No apology, no nothing. I will never go back there again. I will stick with Menchies or Cold Stone. Better Ice cream, better toppings, better service and...

What a major let down!! 1 Upside Down Banana Split & 1 Chocolate Malt cost $14.00 made & served by a young lady who clearly had no desire to be there & had no ability to smile or change the expression on her face! We were very disappointed in the resulting product....we haven't been here in years!! What a shock!! The malt wasn't mixed....it was all in the bottom of the cup!! The Upside Down Banana Split use to be a traditional 3 scoop 3 topping banana split made in a cup!! No longer!! Now it's 2 scoops with 2 toppings which they skimp on & put both toppings on top!! It was horrible ... we will never go back!! At one time this was our very favorite place to the point of making sure we were able to arrange for their ice cream cake rolls to be gotten for my youngest daughters birthday every year before they went on vacation for the holidays/winter months! Her birthday was Christmas!! We will never go back after today!! Between the product & the service....they lost our business!! I now have twin grandsons starting to enjoy these special treats & we watch them 5 days a week & my Christmas Baby is expecting her 1st. In October!! You lost a lot of business...
