La Vera Party Center — Local services in Willoughby Hills

We could not be any happier with our experience with La Vera catering for our recent wedding at Standing Rock Farms in April 2025. From the start, the owner Carl was fantastic to work with. Very responsive and friendly. He offered for us to come in and do a food tasting before we booked and the food was delicious. We took a few days to think about it but ultimately booked Carl. His prices were very reasonable for the packages and service you get. We had multiple calls and visits with Carl and his team to finalize details for the wedding day. A few weeks before the wedding, the event coordinator Hannah reached out to us and was wonderful! We had to add two gluten free meals for guests at the last minute and they were so accommodating. On wedding day, their team set everything up meticulously and with such attention to detail. The Italian grazing board was HUGE and so delicious. Meals came out fast and steaming hot. They kept coming to check on us to make sure we didn’t need anything and make sure things were okay. Food was delicious, we had a ton of guests coming up to us telling us how good the food was, and that it was the best food at a wedding they’ve ever had. The wedding cake was from Corbo’s bakery, which was included in our catering package from La Vera. It was delicious!! We also hired bartenders and did the mixer package through La Vera, and they were great. There was never a line at the bar and drinks were so good. La Vera’s staff cleared tables quietly throughout the night and had everything cleaned up by the end of the wedding. I attended a wedding this past Saturday, the service was absolutely terrible. Take my advice and NEVER rent this venue! While the venue itself is absolutely beautiful, the behavior displayed by the owner and staff during this event was completely rude and disrespectful!!!!! From the tone of voice, to language used, to having police officers follow around the groom, to not allowing guest inside the event, it was all just extremely disappointing and disrespectful. I have never felt more discomfort by an owner of a business. I hate to say race played its part, but clearly....if i could give zero stars, i would! The groom and wife - if they paid for the event - should receive a refund if not the full refund, partial. As an owner, you should feel ashamed of yourself!!!!!

Response to what this owner said: you're trying to justify why you and your staff were extremely rude and disrespectful to guests! They made their payments despite you trying to "blast" the brides mother for insufficient payment, all of your money was received as you contradicted yourself. My sister asked if there was a vegetarian option and your staff was SO rude to her with the way they responded. Though, that was not the first or last of the rudeness. Your level of disrespect was beyond unacceptable and here you are trying to justify YOUR poor display of running a business. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our daughter’s wedding than LaVera Party Center! The food was absolutely spectacular—from the incredible antipasto table (a meal in itself!) to the perfectly prepared dinner that our guests are still raving about. LaVera has always been a beautiful venue, but after the recent renovations, it’s simply stunning. Every detail—from the elegant table settings to the perfectly arranged welcome tables for favors, gifts, and the audio guest book—was picture-perfect.

Sam and the entire LaVera staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and so helpful, not just to us as parents of the bride and groom, but to the bride and groom themselves and every one of our guests. Because the team took care of everything so flawlessly, we were able to truly relax and enjoy the night. For days afterward, I received texts and calls from guests saying it was the BEST food they had ever had at a wedding, and how beautiful the venue was. Most importantly, the bride and groom had the time of their lives.

We also hosted the bridal shower at LaVera, and it was just as wonderful—phenomenal food and service once again, with a beautifully arranged room. The staff went above and beyond helping us set up our cupcake display and coffee bar.

It was such a fun, carefree, and memorable experience from start to finish. I can honestly say I will never host an event anywhere else. We will definitely be calling LaVera when it’s time for the...
