My family and I have been to Morrie's quite a few times. However, last night's visit was the worst we have ever had. Our group of 6 adults and 2 young kids (

The place wasn’t very busy...but the service was terrible. Waited 30 minutes and no one came for a drink order. After asking someone on the staff to come take our order, we waited at least 20 more minutes. The waitress was flustered but finally came and took our order. We waited well over an hour but no food was coming and no one came and offered an explanation. We were out on the patio and another waitress came out ON THE PATIO WHERE THE CUSTOMERS SIT to smoke. She started complaining to us about her night. I’m sorry but first off, don’t smoke where the patrons of your restaurant are trying to relax, and second, I am not here to listen to your problems...you’re in customer service. Even if your day is going terribly, you slap a smile on your face and act like it’s okay. I work in customer service. It’s what you do. After well over an hour and a half, we were starving and hangry. So we left. Somebody came running up to our car and told us that the food was done and the manager wanted to talk to us. Fine. So I asked for it to be put in a to go box. They did this then told us we had to pay full price for the meal. Really? Oh, but they gave us a couple pieces of pie to make up for it. Sorry, but that’s not gonna cut it. Will not return and will not recommend this restaurant-in fact, I will warn everyone I know to...

Mediocre food and service.

A blah menu. I am sure it serves just fine for the lake crowd - it's pretty much what you would expect - fried chicken and fish, hamburgers. I didn't try the pie - if it was home made it might redeem the rest of the food. The deep fried tenderloin was soft instead of crisp and everything was pretty much flavorless except the deep fried pickles slices.

In spite of the Friday rush it still seemed like the wait to have our order taken - given we were sitting at the bar - was a bit too long. We were having a conversation and enjoying ourselves but the wait seemed excessive - especially with people standing around behind the bar not doing much. The one woman may have been management and seemed to be scanning for problems - but she didn't interact with the patrons at all and there was work not getting done while she did pretty much nothing.

In addition, the experience was not enhanced by the political T-shirt of one of the help that referred to people who disagreed with her as being "haters." Someone needs to tell the owners that such things don't belong in a place of business. It certainly gives Shelby county residents a reputation as ignorant white...

If your looking for a completely different place to go during the summer, Morrie's is that place! It is a tropical island atmosphere with a layed back and friendly staff. Everything on the menu is great, and the prices can't be beat! If your camping at Ft. Loramie State Park, just walk across the road and sit at one of their outdoor tables. They offer many other things such as a bait shop, ice cream shop and a small motel which is great for out of towners. I am going to become a regular. Well worth stopping in! We got there sort of close to closing time and they still made us feel very welcome and were happy to have us even being so late as well.

The diner is almost hidden unless you are at the Lake Loramie State park, even then it's easy to drive by. The menu has a more than the average bar. They have appetizers, soup, salads, fried chicken, steak, and fish. I had home made chips, that were very good and fried chicken that was bland for my taste. Service was good.

went for breakfast this morning. very good! I would recommend Morrie's landing to friends. the hash browns were perfect. our waitress was truly friendly , she wasn't just trying to be and that really goes a long way to setting the atmosphere. I look forward to returning.
