1/17/25 Was our first time visiting here we were in town for a fishing trip , saw the place thought we'd try it and we will never be going back or recommending.
We didn't even finish our food because the beans were watered down and couldn't tell if it was the beans or the meat that had a funny taste to it.
Well needless to say our stomachs let us know the food was bad just a little ways down the road and have been miserable all day today as well, have to stay close to a restroom.
It's called Lunas tamales but we were told they hardly ever have tamales but we were lucky because they had some in the food truck outside , the lady inside told us they rarely have them but that if we wanted tamales she could give us her phone number and we could get them from her mom. We let her know we don't live here in the area just visit to go fishing. The lady inside was very nice ,attentive , and tried her best even though she couldn't answer questions about the food or menu items bless her heart. The restaurant was nice looking and clean and the waitress/hostess...
Read moreI’ve never had better tamales my entire life. They are small. And delicious. And worth it. The meat is tender and the masa isn’t dry. I didn’t need a massive amount of sour cream or salsa to swallow them.
Their dishes are not value menu items. It’s homemade and a luxury.
I arrived at 10am to order 2 dozen. All local patrons have learned how quickly they sell out of their inventory, especially since they fill very large orders.
If you live far away and are driving a long distance, that’s solely your decision and not the restaurant itself.

When dining at a locally owned and loved restaurant, don’t expect the trash value of what chain restaurants fool you with. Unfortunately many reviewers are so highly critical they miss the point of mom and pop establishments. If you want a gigantic amount of food for cheap correct your perspective before trash talking any restaurants. Can you buy frozen tamales for under 15 bucks? Then...
Read moreMy husband and pass through there from DFW, Tx to check on a home in Alba .and pop in to get tamales to go and eat in , before heading back , The food is excellent , but , sometimes their youth employees are not friendly and efficient . They need to better train them . Last time we stopped in , the girl that was working up there took our order and told me to wait for our drinks to take care of a couple behind us . Well., the couple and one of the owners started a conversation and the girl stood there waiting for them to visit . It was probably a good ten mins . I felt , she could’ve fetched our drinks while they conversed . When the owner , brought our meals , I noticed she was stand-offish . We didn’t appreciate that . She had been friendly in the past , and they are familiar with us , as we have been there several times . Don’t think we are going back . Every customer should be appreciated . That’s what keeps businesses flowing...
