I don't understand the hype of this place. Major let down! Finally tried it after wanting to go there for months. This is just fried frozen seafood that is way overcooked. I got the two item combo of bang bang Shrimp, flounder, green beans, and fries. The shrimp was like rubber and bang bang sauce was just what tasted like the great value brand sweet Thai chili sauce not a bang bang sauce. This is not calabash style and it's actually insulting. Fries were undercooked and were like raw potatoes. Green beans tasted straight from the can and the flounder was cooked okay just lacked and real flavor or seasoning. My husband got the grilled salmon salad and the salad was a salad of course but the salmon was way way overcooked as well. If you try this place you've been warned. I don't know if they have gone downhill or if people in this area just don't know what seafood should taste like. Id go to mayflower any day over this place. Tried to support local but this ain't it.

ETA: changed star rating from two to one star after unnecessary response from owner. A simple sorry you didn't like it was the only thing called for not a smart remark such as maybe mayflower is a better fit. Exactly why some people need business management skills degrees or communications degrees. A caring owner would accept the review for what it is: a criticism and change things to make sure no one else ever felt that way....

Have read and heard a lot of raving reviews about this place and after my appt seeing a professional specialist in the area, they said they’d heard lots of good reviews from locals in the area. I decided to check it out. I was not disappointed! Seafood was absolutely delicious! I ordered the 3 fried seafood combo of flounder, shrimp , & oysters with sides of FF and slaw. My guest ordered the 2 fried combo of flounder and shrimp with sides of fried okra and potato salad. Hush puppies were served with Honey butter but they also have regular butter on the table along with other condiments. Other than the slaw not being my fav of the sides, rest of the sides that we ordered were good. Our food was served hot and not warm/cold. Waitress brought some warm shrimp cocktail sauce to our table upon request. Friendly attitude. Clean. Not noisy. Public restrooms available. I saw where one review stated there were no restrooms available…smh Their seafood is fresh. They get 2-3 deliveries week. Their food reminds me of the Calabash style from the coast of NC and SC. They have a senior discount for the 2 combo plate, regular $15 for $13.95 They do take calls for “takeout” orders but no online orders. It’s a family run restaurant. I'll definitely return. Their seafood is that good! I'm glad to know there's a local restaurant in the area that sells seafood "Calabash" style!...

Went there with my girlfriend and my mother meeting up with six other friends we thought we were going to a how can I say it a regular restaurant seafood restaurant it turned out to be something like you may call her carry out seafood restaurant next to it was a laundromat next to that was a gas station so that you paint a picture for you but don't judge a book by its cover the food and the service was excellent top-notch unbelievable the booths when only fit for people but the management said it was okay for us to take another boot and move it and send it next to the other one so all of us was able to sit together at the table and have a good time as I said before the service was good and the food was actually if you're looking for seafood and the Wilson area of North Carolina I suggest you give us a try it's an individual or restaurant Independent owner what you might call Mom and Pop restaurant I always support local restaurants anytime I possibly can so as I said before don't judge a book points, what a surprise very...

Was headed to Wilson today and wanted seafood for lunch so I decided to try Salty Shores out. I highly recommend! Owner and waitress were extremely nice and the food (baby flounder & shrimp) was very good with a good lunch portion. It is a small dinning area but very nice to sit in a not so noisy place and enjoy a good lunch. They moved to a new location in Wilson and into a bigger building, the food is still the best around!
