The Grange at Wilson Gardens Event Center Open by Reservation — Restaurant in Wilson

Another upscale place in the Wilson, AR area. This is a fairly new addition to the town from the same owners of Wilson Cafe. I have been here earlier once to attend an office party ( from BRS). It was during the holiday season, and the place was reserved for the party. The bar looks great, although the Moscow mule I ordered was not that great. The party food was mostly snacks, and they were good. A few days back I returned again for lunch. It was a weekday and the place was not much packed. I got myself a chicken salad sandwich, and the crispy potatoes as sides. The sides don’t come with the sandwich, and you have to pay separately if you decide to order them. I got a chocolate ice cream shake as well. The shake was too sweet for me. The food was fresh, and good, however, a bit expensive. The place overall looks upscale...

We originally fell in love with the place for our wedding/reception and booked well over a year ahead. Then we received a call in January of 2020 (our wedding was supposed to be Nov 2020) saying they were repurposing the building and cancelling all events/weddings whatever. We got a refund, but were upset for awhile because that was where we envisioned our big day. I was scrolling on Facebook one day and noticed someone tagged at a wedding at the venue and was very upset to find out they have still been doing weddings and other events. Super disappointed and definitely peeved that ours was cancelled and others were not. If it was a date issue, we could’ve changed. Whatever. We’re married now, but I’m always going to be a little mad we couldn’t have our wedding and reception here....

Went back to Wilson on the 16th of Sept for the Cottonfest. Went to the Grange again because we loved the Cafe from 3 weeks prior. We were looking forward to the gumbo again only to find out it wasn't on the menu anymore. The server said lots of people had complained about it not being on the menu anymore. Husband ordered the grilled Cuban and it wasn't edible. We were so disappointed because the food was good 3 weeks prior. A nice Cafe but don't bring out food that is dry and burnt. Very disappointing. We won't be back...
