The food was delicious. A worker named Ian was very friendly and informative about the area. HOWEVER... it took over 1.5 hours to get our food. We ordered our food at 12:30. After an hour went by with no food, a man came and brought a ham sandwich order to one of us who had ordered one. Within a couple minutes, another waitress came and said sorry he says he brought you the wrong plate. It WAS what she ordered and she already started eating the fries, but spparently it was supposed to go to a different table, but they took it away from her anyway! Within a couple minutes, they took it to the other person who had ordered the same thing! Being so quick, leads me to wonder if they served him the exact same plate after taking it from her. Yuck. ThEN our waitress came to the table to tell us she was so sorry she FORGOT to turn our order in to the kitchen! And just then turned it in! She said i am so sorry, I wondered why you weren't eating over here! (But didnt bother to check obviously!) We got our food at 2:05. Then the waitress has the nerve to tell us she is off duty and is leaving. I so wanted to tell her she doesnt get to leave until we do. The new waitress apologized again and said she would give us a discount. When the bill csme the discount amounted to just over $3.. In all we were in that restsurant for well over 2 hours, had an incredibly frustrating experience, and were only given $3ish off of our entire bill. The waitress is lucky that my husband and our friends are generous and left a good tip anyway. I may not have been so generous. Even though the food was good, I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the incredibly...
Read moreI guess when you’re the only restaurant in town, you can do whatever you want. So, when did rural towns start charging city prices? This place looks like an upscale sort of brunch spot, but the food was only so so. My boyfriend ordered an espresso, but they brought out what may have been an americano… in a lipstick stained mug. She was nice enough to take it back, but returned a little too quickly to make me believe she made a new one. Anywho, the coffee was actually pretty good, but it wasn’t exactly hot. The menu was pretty typical for a cafe. I opted for the Avocado Turkey Club, and my boo thang got the Farmer’s Breakfast. Both were $14 a piece, that’s high for middle of nowhere Arkansas right?!?! So we both ordered our bacon extra crispy (damn near burnt is what I actually said), neither of us got extra crispy bacon. Okay, it is what it is, moving on. His eggs weren’t under cooked, but they were wet and bland. Are wet eggs a thing??? It was odd. My club was buttered, as if it was to be toasted, but I think it only kissed the grill because it wasn’t toasted. AND, remember when I said I ordered the AVOCADO Turkey Club? Well, apparently they were out of avocado. But no one ever said anything, I had to ask “Hey, ummm, didn’t this thing come with avocado?” Oh, yea, we’re out, sorry. And that was the end of it! I may have changed my order had I known, but I guess they figured I wouldn’t miss the avocado in my AVOCADO TURKEY CLUB! Lol!!! In summary, this is literally the only restaurant in town, so they’re going to do what they do. Just giving anyone who decides to...
Read moreI have always wanted to try Wilson Cafe since I found it, and man, I am so glad I have finally fulfilled that wish, because it's everything I expected. First, the cafe itself is beautiful, and so is the town of Wilson, even though it's in the middle of nowhere. The cafe was a mix of a classic but modern dining experience that was elevated to be high class. It was gorgeous! We started off with the Smithey Cast Iron Rustic Bread, which, with the butter, was so yummy. The heavy amounts of garlic in it made me smile. My boyfriend ordered the Mushroom Gnocchi and I ordered the Pork Chop. I was skeptical of the gnocchi, as most gnocchi I have tried in restaurants were always so chewy it almost always tasted raw and bland, but Wilson Cafe's did not disappoint. It was flavored perfectly with butter and it was especially great paired with the mushroom. Of course, I though the Pork Chop was much better, and honestly, it's because it was. The Pork Chop was not dry, which I was scared of because it's such a thick cut, but instead it was the juiciest and best Pork Chop(sorry mom) that I ever ate. The first bite literally melted in my mouth. The tomatoes on the sides mixed with it perfectly, though I wasn't a big fan of the lettuce being there because it just got soggy. And don't even get me started on the deliciousness of the potatoes. I wish Wilson Cafe were closer to Jonesboro so I could go every day, but it's definitely...
