5/25 - Well-made Moo Goo Gai Pan & General Tso's Chicken.
4/25 - Good sized fried wing app & plentiful vegetable fried rice.
3/2025 - Nice chicken with mixed vegetables, shrimp & broccoli & wonton soup. Glad to see the young father back.
8/2023 - I wondered where the family went who made food here for two decades. There is a new cook. Our takeout was okay. Not as good as it was...sweet & sour chicken was the best dish. The house special fried rice that used to be packed with shrimp, chicken & pork had less now. The vegetable steamed dumplings had a different flavor. Fried pork dumplings okay. No special sauce. The Moo Shu pork had a few small pink cubes usually associated with Chinese food. The egg & spring rolls were different. We'll try some other things in the future. Cute little boy drawing cakes in the main room.
11/22 - Another great bag of takeout dishes from this little place. Impressive cooking for a neighborhood store. Not fancy at all, simply consistent, fresh, happy food.
7/22 - Still reliably good. A new item for us was the special Dragon & Phoenix order. A mix of spicy fried jumbo shrimp and General Tso's chicken got a thumbs up.
Glad to see how busy they were with so many take-out orders, however, it did affect ours in that one dinner in our bag was wrong. After calling, I had a choice of a credit or driving back to get the meal I ordered. Choosing the latter, the restaurant was still swamped, so it took time to get my meal. They also left out one of the spring rolls ordered but I didn't want to stay. Everything was fine even though my meal was interrupted.
The beef fried rice has always been a stand alone order and we saw why. Worth the extra dollar. The Moo Shu Shrimp with four pancakes was worth the wait. The Sesame Shrimp we got by mistake, had too much coating and was $2.00 more. The fried chicken wings were smaller than before, but are still crisp with a nice flavor. Expect Friday night's to be busy so order early and check your bag before you go!
Three combination meals ordered which come with an egg roll and pork fried rice were enjoyed - Kung Pao chicken, crispy orange chicken and shrimp and chicken combo. The sesame beef was tender and flavorful accompanied by requested brown rice better than most. Two of the dishes had their usual perfectly cooked broccoli and two needed more cooking time.
Our take-out here late October was good: The wonton soup is always tasty, whether it's the regular or house special that comes with more ingredients: chicken, shrimp, pork, mushrooms, broccoli and carrot.
The steamed vegetable dumplings I started ordering when I read they were half as fattening as the pork, but my partner finds them bland and still prefers the pork. The varied egg rolls all got praise for texture and taste.
The sweet and sour pork was plentiful with nice pork inside the fried toasty batter. I've been meaning to try their crispy duck, but there was no more duck today. Their "China Delight" with shrimp, chicken, scallops, dried mushroom in garlic sauce was okay but there are many dishes I prefer here. The scallops were two tiny bay scallops I finally found. Some of the chicken was stringy and there were vegetables in the mix that weren't listed. We did like the spicy sauce.
As someone who moved back to CT after many years in NY and CA, moving to a rural area, I thought I wouldn't find good Chinese food. I've always loved the food this restaurant has prepared for us. They are really nice people, too.
Over 15 years, they left the addition of a requested egg in our fried rice out maybe twice? They happily put it in our next order free of charge when I mentioned it to them.
Our egg rolls, spring roll, steamed pork dumplings, chicken tenders, house special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp and chicken with broccoli were all delicious. When giving us our order, they said they were out of spring rolls and gave us three egg rolls. Okay, but to our surprise, they put in our bag perhaps the one spring roll they had left. Plus, they gave us a free soda....
Read moreI decided to be very generous and give this place two stars. The food was average. The people there were rude. I ordered over the phone, and they were so dismissive and quick to get me off the phone. When I went to pick up my food, they had missed an entire meal that I ordered. I will never go here again. I'd rather drive the extra 10-15 minutes to go somewhere else than go back to this place. Also, after ordering over $50 of food, I asked for soy sauce and duck sauce, I was given 3 soy sauce packets and 2 duck sauce packets for over $50 worth of food. I recommend going there only if you have to, but if you have the means to go somewhere else, then...
Read moreFood wasn't very good, seriously lacking flavor. Ordered stringbeans with broccoli in garlic sauce. It was kinda like they just dumped sweet and sour sauce on it and nothing else. Crab Rangoons were super salty, soggy, and barely filled. Tipped on top of the 6% processing fee they charge online to order, and the CHILD working behind the counter kept trying to get my husband to add a $10 tip to the signed receipt. Waste of $35. I'd love to get...
