Mama’s Coffee House — Restaurant in Winchester

This morning had me headed west to run something to my wife she forgot. (I think she just needed to see me, so ever once in awhile she calls me up and asks that I bring her something from home. 😁)

Yesterday, while participating in the Winchester homecoming parade, I was reminded about Mama's coffee house. So today while in Winchester, I thought I'd give it a try and here's what I found.

I wish so badly I could get this small local place 5 stars, but I just can’t do it honestly. The coffee is great, I’ve never not been happy with my coffee. However, the drive thru service is insanely poor. I choose this local place instead of Dunkin to help support the small business instead of a major company, but it’s becoming difficult to choose them when it takes so long to even get someone to take your order at the drive thru. If you need a quick coffee shop stop, this isn’t the place for that. It takes some time. We normally love the food but lately my kids have been complaining mini muffins have been incredibly dry, my oldest got a little choked by them today. Lastly, the cups they use for the iced coffees, the lids never stay on the cups and I had to stop ordering my coffee iced because it kept spilling all over me. I'd passed by without seeing it a few times and finally stopped in today, I'm so happy we did. We had a chicken salad croissant, veggie soup, a build your own sandwich (made a club) and the potato soup. It was all freaking delicious. The veggie soup was chock full of carrots, potatoes, fresh peas, onion, celery, green beans and I'm sure more that I didn't notice bc I was busy stuffing my face. The chicken salad was freaking great I don't know what herbs they used but sweet sheesh it was the tastiest chicken salad I've had in ages. The byo sandwich we got was phenomenal, stacked with meat and two slices of cheese (one slice never cuts it) and the potato soup was nice and thick w a lovely smoked bacon flavor.
