Northwood Diner — Restaurant in Windsor Place

To start off, I want to first point out that we left full and satisfied. The food was good and so was our service.

I am leaving a 3 star review because I think the prices are simply too high. To explain, as the food was good, the menu is very small with little options. If you simply want a burger and fries, you're in luck. But for the prices they charge, I'd like to see more items on the menu.

I ended up paying around 50 bucks for small simple appetizers and average sized burgers.

This matters because with those prices you are competing with other businesses that charge the same yet offer WAY more around the area, such as Brew Brothers in Boonville.

As for atmosphere, it was a very small dining room with tables and chairs too close together. It feels like it was all put together in a hurry. It just seems cheaply put together.

One other comment I read stated that there were problems with roaches, cleanliness, etc. That didn't seem to be a problem for us when we visited. However, Northwood didn't respond professionally to that comment, which leads me to say that my comment isn't meant to be harmful to NorthWood, rather than to offer them suggestions to improve and hopefully grow their business.

To summarize, the food was good, but it wasn't amazing. The menu and atmosphere combined does unfortunately need improvement at the price they ask for service. The local community seems to like Northwood, which is great. However driving in outside business (as you are on I-70) is going to be tough competing with other places around you, who simply offer more or are simply cheaper. Due to this, I probably won't be returning at least for a while. If adjustments can be made, this would be a wonderful little restaurant, and I'm sure it's well within the owners capacity to make...

As an avid Diner person, when a new diner opens I always visit 3 to 5 times before leaving a review.

Northwood is a new operation about 6 months old and the restaurant is very clean and new and well decorated.

The food is absolutely fantastic. I strongly recommend the fried chicken, tenderloin and the fish dinner. The fried pickles are very delectable as well. The pies and cakes are made locally and are very rich and very tasty.

Being a new operation you could tell there were some issues with speedy service but it seems they have corrected those. The staff is very friendly and treat you like family. If you don't go to Northwood Diner you are missing out.! By far the best Diner in the...

Would have loved to try the place but nobody there. Hours said 11 am to 7 pm today, drove 45 minutes (they said they said the have broasted chicken which we havent had since we left home) and the damn door is locked!!!! Nobody ever answers the phone and the mailbox is always full. Looked like someone was there but no lights and nobody would come to the door. NEVER GOING TO TRY AGAIN!!! HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE!!!!
