The experience we had here exceeded our expectations. We were riding the trail and quite hungry when we arrived. This spot was recommended by our cabin host and did not disappoint. I was very pleased with the vegetarian fajitas option which came with a massive platter of well seasoned vegetables and a separate platter of beans and rice with lettuce, pico, and sour cream. This was the worst experience we have had there. I don’t know if they had a new cook or what but everything was either scorched or burnt to the point of being black. A couple people at our table had steak burritos and they could not eat the meat it was so hard and burnt. Also the chips were so hard you could barely eat them either. Usually they have the light crunchy chips but these were thick and tasted like they were cooked 3 days ahead. The food was flavorful and well-seasoned — the chips, salsa, and cheese were especially excellent. Our entrées tasted great, but the portion sizes were quite small for the price, and we were charged more than what was listed on the menu.
That said, the staff was polite and attentive throughout our visit, and the scenic drive home made for a nice ending to the evening. I’d recommend this spot for the taste alone, but be prepared for smaller portions and possible pricing...
