What a let down! The buildings decor and grounds were lovely. We went for Prime Rib. I’d called a week and half prior to make a reservations asking when the best time would be to come in to ensure medium rare would be available, I was told 5 pm. We arrived and the place was not full but after our drink orders were taken and brought to us we were told they were out of medium rare and rare prime rib; I asked the server, why as it was barely 5 pm, the time in which they’re prime rib service begins every Saturday? She said it had been over cooked noting “she hated when that happened“ like this happens often. This was disappointing but we ordered our meals. I decided to give Medium a try anyway asking the waitress if I could just be given as closest to red available . While waiting another table was served very juicy big red center pieces of very medium ( almost medium rare i dare say) prime rib right in front of us , this made me hopeful. When our meal came a few minutes later. It looked nothing like what the previous table had just received. My own PR was much smaller, more medium well cooked and completely dry, meaning not freshly cut. My step daughter, who did actually order medium well , was delivered a prime rib that had been thrown on a flat grill and seared so long it had a burnt crust. After saying all they had was medium to well in the first place why would it need to be seared at all does the “chef”( cook) at this place not know you don’t sear prime rib ?? The only reason I didn’t say anything was because of my young stepdaughter’s, for one I’d brought them there for an early Father’s day dinner with their dad to avoid large crowds and I knew if I began questioning what was going on it would ruin their evening because I would become angry and want to leave ( had it been just my boyfriend and I, I would have 100% left ) and two they have no idea what Prime rib is supposed to be like so the one who received the seared piece was perfectly content with her ruined seared prime rib not knowing any better as she’s not old enough to have experienced a quality prime rib service ; so I bit my tongue for their sake only . My boyfriend ended up getting fish and chips , he shared a bite with me and it was like biting into a fish oil capsule, greasy , really fishy, skin still on. Maybe being new to the area and coming from a city with amazing food, Las Vegas , im spoiled with what quality food actually is and I should learn to lower my standards for small town places, such as this. We politely ate our disappointing meals and because I really wanted and hoped to find something redeemable about this place other than the decor being pleasant to look at so I asked about dessert options again being disappointed as they were already out of every dessert ( it wasn’t even 6 pm yet 🤦🏽♀️) I began to get the sense something else was going on after having seen my meal but remembering the meal that had walked by us mere minutes before. I have a strong sense that this place did not over cook the prime rib or run out of dessert one hour after beginning dinner service, they were simply reserving for guests of their choice ( friends, frequents, relatives….the outdoor venue guests?? who knows? ) and telling other guests they were out. The meal we were served gave me sad “we could care less if you return” feeling when I saw it Just like the we could care less you are here greeting we received upon arriving.. Id expect a restaurant manager to be around apologizing to anyone who wanted mid rare ,especially at this early hour if overcooking was the actual case, but maybe mangers here aren’t required to have basic customer service skills. Im used to managers being super professional greeting as many guests as possible . After having Ted’s sweet water grill on my lists of places to check out as a new Windsor resident it was just a let down for such a lovely location. Will not be recommending to family,...
Read moreThis could be such a little gem in the Raindance neighborhood but just misses the mark on more than one level which is just disappointing. The day we visited , and for its size, they had plenty of waitstaff but they are disorganized and consequently service is EXTREMELY slow. From the group, I saw one attentive waitress consistently paying attention to her tables but it seems the majority of the waitstaff prefers congregating at the bar to chat with each other instead of waiting on their tables or even seating tables. We arrived a little before 2 on a Saturday afternoon, the place was relatively busy but also had plenty of empty tables. We had two wait staff members approach us at the hostess stand only to tell us that they had to go find the hostess so that person could seat us. Despite our party of 2 and another party of 4 waiting behind us, we waited several minutes before we were seated. Curious but ok… We ordered a smoked salmon/ bagel and cream cheese plate and a side Caesar salad. It took over 30 minutes to get that out to our table. The salmon plate was nice but the $6 side salad was basically a cup and a half of salad in a ramekin set into a larger bowl… my guess is to make the salad look “bigger”??? If you are going to charge $6 for a handful of salad, maybe it’s worth it to make it just a little bit bigger and skip the ramekin all together?? No one checked on our table after the food was delivered. And after sitting there for quite some time with empty plates in front of us, we had to flag down a server (not even our own) in order to ask for the bill. We have been to Ted’s three times and the food has always been good but seems like a good manager might be an asset. This place is really cute and has such potential. It’s really nice to have it in the neighborhood, but sadly needs a bit of help on the organization and...
Read moreWe have previously visited this restaurant and had amazing service, STELLAR cocktails, and delicious food. On 8/7/25 we took a friend there and were disappointed to see they had just changed their menu, and unfortunately our favorite dishes were no longer offered. I decided to try the chicken pot pie and it was awful. There was maybe a total of 1 cup of filling topped with a standard refrigerator-style biscuit cut into fourths on top baked to the point I was able to knock them on the table like rocks. The chicken was absolutely rubber and the dish had an overall scalded aftertaste. Both my husband and our friend ordered burgers - they were charred heavily on the outsides and nearly raw inside, plus they were absolutely dwarfed by the size of the buns. And insult to injury we paid well over $100 between the three meals, our cocktails (which were still stellar) and tip. We don't mind paying that for a really good meal... this was pretty darn bad. I'd also like to share that we had a new server and were very patient with him; however, he dropped the check off at the table as soon as our friend took the first bite of her burger and asked if we wanted boxes. I told him we had just started eating and he walked away. He never asked if we wanted dessert (which we were originally wanting) or offered boxes again. He also left the dirty plates in front of us while we continued visiting - there were plenty of open tables and we are good tippers so that shouldn't have affected our service. We will not be returning to eat, although the cocktails are...
