My kids took me to the Grainhouse for Father's Day. It was our first time there (even though he live down the street in Poudre Heights). Besides the food it was one of the WORST experiences I have had. My daughter and I came in and a sign stated " seat yourself". We found a nice area to sit on the inside wall looking outside.
My daughter and I sat there for 15 minutes and no one even looked our way. There were at least, from what I counted, nine servers and one manager. I finally went up to the bar and ordered our drinks and went back to where we were sitting. Still no one came to help us.
Once my son arrived we looked at the menu and I went up to the bar and ordered the food for us. The lady asked me if it was for here or to go and I told her it's for here because we are sitting over here ( I pointed to where we were sitting). The lady gave me a buzzer and she told me when the buzzer goes off to go pick my food up over by where they serve hot dogs.
I went back to where we were sitting and 10 minutes later the buzzer went off and I went over to pick up my food with my son.
Throughout this entire process of a sitting where we were, not one time did anybody come up to us and ask us if we needed help or if we wanted to drink refills or anything of that nature.
Again, let me reiterate that there were nine servers working including a manager. The establishment was possibly halfway full, but it was not crazy.
At one point in time when I went to go up to the bar for drink refills, one of the ladies was working on the cash register in front of me and I literally sat there for 5 minutes and she never asked if I needed help. Finally she looked over at me and asked "do you need something"?
I'm sure all of this could be watched on video to back up everything that I'm saying. For this being our first time there it will probably be our last time. I was very disheartened by the way we were treated or ignored, should I say.
There were many other patrons there that were getting serviced by everyone and we were the only ones that got no service.
Out of all the places I chose to go for Father's Day, this is the place I chose. I am very disappointed.
Hopefully somebody in upper management will read this and...
Read moreSuch a cool place to hang out and watch a game & meet friends! This place is huge and has a ton of space! There isn't many food items on the menu but that's because they are waiting on their kitchen to get put in. So, they have a food truck they use until it's completed. Hopefully it's completed soon because I like to eat healthy & there isn't many options for that. My hubby does like their smoked meat sandwich with the sidewinder fries, it is done nicely! They also have poutine but we've not tried it.
I would think they would have a more extensive bar selection & more taps. I think they have 10 taps and they are good ones but with how big they are, I thought it would be more. They don't offer some normal bar liquor, that I would think they would as well. My friend wanted a different tequila and they didn't have 2 she mentioned. I wanted a limoncello spritz and they didn't have limoncello, but that's not as common of one to have. I also think the bartenders could use some training on making cocktails.
The service is usually friendly & great! Although, we went for my birthday and it wasn't the greatest then. But overall I would say a friendly staff & doing a great job! We had Josie this past time and she was so sweet and so attentive! She is new but did a phenomenal job. 2 of my friends ordered a sparkling rose and 1 smelled like bleach. It was weird and gross. She asked to smell both my friends glasses since she had just brought them out and she was like you are right, this one does smell like bleach. She got a new one right away.
I highly recommend this place to enjoy some drinks with friends and watching a game. I think this summer it'll be a killer place to hang if they have live music. But they need to work some kinks out. Last thing, we were there for the women's championship college basketball game and there were no specials for it. Usually there are for that kind of thing so that would have been nice. Plus it was national beer day and they didn't know. Small detail but when you add fun specials in, guests love it & they come...
Read moreWent here last night for a break from skiing with my two young kids. They were very busy, and atmosphere was nice. Lots of TVs if that’s your thing, would probably be awesome for watching games.
Service was pretty good given the crowd size. Food was pretty crummy to be honest. Would rather have gone to Applebee’s for at least equivalent quality at a much lower price. And I’m no fan of Applebee’s. Split a burger and salad with my wife and ordered mac & cheese and mozzarella sticks for the kids. Only got two forks and because they were so busy we had to wait 20 minutes to get another fork for the adults to eat. And then had to wait to get a knife to split the burger. And then waited to get ketchup and mustard. Would have gladly grabbed these things myself if that was an option. Everything is served off of paper plates with plastic cutlery and you can see from the photo what splitting a $17 burger looks like 😕
Love the space and the concept, but execution was pretty disappointing. I will say the server immediately comped the burger when she saw how pathetic it looked, which was very nice of her. Wouldn’t eat here again given the overall experience. If I was meeting friends to drink beers and watch sports, I think this place...
